hi all. I have been for my 1 month check up today. My specialist said I have made an excellent recovery so far. He wants me to keep using the one crutch while outdoors for another two weeks but I'm ok to walk unaided indoors. So I will do as I'm told and listen to the expert. He said I'm fine to sleep on the operated side but not the good side for the time being. I can drive and also start swimming the front crawl which I'm really pleased about as swimming is my thing . Also I can go on the static bike and cross trainer. So, I'm really pleased with myself and looking forward to getting on with my recovery. I Have to go back again in a months time to see the specialist again. I know we are all recovering at different rates and different doctors have different ideas but just wanted to report back to you all. It's a long journey we're all on and I want to wish you all the best and here's hoping for a full recovery for us all. Xx
That's great news Jennifer & well done to you with your progress. I think the pair of us have done really well wouldn't you say? I'm seeing my surgeon on 28th July & I'm hoping he'll be really pleased with my progress. Keep up the good work x
Yes, we have done really well Fernlady. Good luck with your check up , and you too keep up the good work, xx
Congrats Jennifer. That is excellent news about your progress at 1 month. You should be proud that you are doing all that activity which is helping you to a better recovery and I am sure makes you feel good.
Its great for you to share your good news and celebrate where you are at with us. Makes us feel good too.
Cathy😊

Excellent news about your recovery progress, Jennifer. Did you have the anterior or the posterior approach? I am one week behind you and still have many restrictions. No swimming or in water at all for at least 3 more weeks. Driving and the rest wasn't even mentioned. I'm walking with no pain but still using a walker. So you are WAY ahead of me. But I am mindful that we all progress at individual rates, for sure.
hi jennifer,
well done, girl -
what I like is that he wants you to come back in 4 weeks for another check up -
we all need some reinforcement in the early days that we are doing good -
big warm hug
renee
Thank you Renee. Your right, it's good to be reassured by the professionals. Hugs back to you. X
I had posterior approach Leslie. We shouldn't be comparing ourselves with each other really but I felt so pleased with myself yesterday I wanted to let you all know how I was doing. You will get there, I have no doubt. As you say we all progress at different rates. Good luck with your recovery. Xx
& so you should be pleased x
Thanks, Jennifer. I am quite pleased with how I'm progressing and can't compare myself to others for sure!
But also very pleased with how you are progressing -- this is such a journey for all of us!
