1 year old with suspected liver problems

I’m getting desperate by posting in a forum but any help would be great! My son had lab work done at 5 months which showed 2 elevated liver enzymes then X-ray showed enlarged liver. Seen a specialist who seems to think it was nothing. 1 year later we rechecked labs now several enzymes are elevated even more and low hemoglobin and low red blood cell count and he has chalky yellow stools that are never solid. He stays sick regardless of antibiotics and vomits on a more than normal basis. Help!

Has the GP or specialist considered it to be a side effect of antibiotics? See Medicinenet link below

Liver issues with infants are particularly tricky.  Don't know if he's on mother's milk or formula?  If formula, I'd want to change brands to see if this might help.  It might take 2 weeks or more for a proper evaluation of a new diet, but I can't think of what else might be going on.

Make sure he is not exposed to any toxins.  Do NOT use antibacterial soaps, fabric softeners, room fresheners or deodorants. If you have dry cleaned clothes in the closet of the room he sleeps in, move them to a spare closet.

I dearly hope this will pass soon.

Thank you for the reply! The problems started showing at 5 months when he was on formula and are still here at 1 year 6 months and he’s on a normal diet with whole milk.
