Hi Claire,

I have tried medication for anxiety and I just can’t tolerate them but that’s just me. I had awful side affects. I would suggest speaking to your gp and see what they say. Does it mention itching and tingling as a side effect? Sorry I can’t be much help.....just saw your post

Reading your script above, With regards your medications it will take upwards of five weeks before you feel any benefit.  If you look in the box the tablets came in you will  find a sheet of paper describing the drug and any side effects or contraindications the medications have, check there for your itching eyes and face.  When I was younger I used to suffer something same and it was put down to anxiety. However if it persists try and rinse your face after washing with tap water to check if your problem is the soap you may be using.

When we loose someone we love it can take about two years to begin to heal, have you family members you can talk to like Siblings or Father. Sometimes talking to those people who knew your Mam may be more than willing to talk about your Mam and things they did together, chipping in may help you put many things to rest. and help you remember both good  and bad  memories

Concerned regards your daughter and School. I may be a good idea to have words with either Her Class Master or Headmaster, explain what is happening and hopefully they will be able to help

Hi have u been on this medication before is it normal to feel physically sick 12 days taking sertiline or do i just stop taking them as the nausea is so bad

Hi Claire, I've been on Sertraline 25mgs for 2 weeks. I haven't had any itching, I do have a tingling pressure in my face but that was there before I began the tablets! I feel quite nauseous some of the time, but again I had that before a bit too so I don't know if it is a side effect or just continuation of previous symptoms. I felt very shakey and had odd vision the first few days, but that seems to be getting less. I had the shakes before I started the pills too. I'm on them for Health Anxiety, as you can see I have lots of symptoms which were what started the anxiety off. I still think there is something going on health wise, but my Dr is convinced much if not all of it is anxiety. I disagree as I was feeling ill before I got stressed about it! Anyway, I'm taking the meds and hoping the Dr is right....

It's good to have someone else starting them at a similar time.

With all my medications it took two years to get the right mix of drugs, so it can be difficult to remember what I was taking. In my case they were mixing and matching pain medications, NSIDs medications and AD drugs, some of my ADs were not really there for depression they were their to treat nerve damage. I had to take into consideration many different side effects and I also needed to give those medications time to work in their  own write. My treatment were complex and I had to be patient and understanding what was going on in my body. I was also going to Pain Clinic and they helped me move on.

Mt condition is Chronic I will never get better now, I was told how to manage my drugs and reduce and increase my medications as needed. I had to be strong. and accept various side effects and how to control my disability. My Anxiety is caused by health conditions and in the early days we were taught how to negotiate our treatments

You have been on your drug 12 days, you need to allow a further three weeks, however if you are ill and it lasts for longer than you feel comfortable, you talk to your GP. However consider medications that treat anxiety are not never ending, you may run out of options given time. Most of these drugs work in many ways most are very much alike. I have been on my medications without change for thirty years and I accept some problems every now and then

You know your illness you need to be confident and understand  what your needs are. Sad to say I had to take responsibility for my condition. I would be helped accordingly.
