I just wanted to share about my experience. 4 years ago I fell, I cracked my hip bone and it was missed on an xray and even though for almost a year I complained of pain I was told it was nothing and prescribe pain killers that made me gain a ton of weight. The following year the ball of my hip broke off and I had hip pinning surgery. Two weeks into healing it started to pull apart and I was told it was because again of my weight. 6 months went by no healing my surgeon admitted he may not have known what he was doing as that was his first hip pinning I was referred to a young hip revisionist, i then had a left leg introchantric valgus osteotomy.( basically the cut my thigh bone repositioned my leg bone to put pressure on the ball of my hip). 4 weeks after surgery I could tell something wasn't right and i was told to try to walk as much as I could to promote bone healing. A year had went by and no healing I was scheduled for a hip replacement and while I was waiting the bone died and the screw put into place was digging out my hip socket. Through all of this I could barely walk for 3 years. I have 4 children. I could not work.My husband and I had to relocate and lost our house because of all this. Being 28 and a having a broken hip has been the hardest thing of my life! Last year we moved and my new family Dr recommended a wonder surgeon who specializes in my issues I had I met with him and knew he really cared about my issues more then the last two surgerons ever did. Not once did he blame anything on my weight! I got in within a few months of waiting and tomorrow am 10 weeks post op. I didn't get to walk for almost 8 weeks so only have been walking 2 weeks. I ditched all walking aids after 3 or 4 days. I have never felt better i thought I would be on crutches/cane for months but I am doing great. I walk 10,000 steps or more everyday! I have little to no pain..mostly in my ankle because my calf is so week to hold up my tendon but that's due to not walking for so long. Because of a hip replacement I got my life back and I am so grateful for that! Just wanted to share my story that even though sometimes the end never seems near good does come out of a hip replacement. It was the best thing that has ever happened to me!
What an inspiring story! Well done for getting through all of that! I had major hip reconstruction 9 weeks, my 17th operation on my hip. Im still using a stick and very reliant on it. Id begun to wonder whether i will aways need the stick but your story has made me believe that, eventually, i will be able to walk indepenndently again!!
Good luck with your progress and enjoying your life xxx

Wow, you have come a long way, darling -
What a journey - I am so happy for you that everything turned out to be great and you have your life back .. maybe even better than before ..
I have to say this : everything happens for a reason !!!
I am sure that you and your family were devastated when you lost your house and had to relocate ... but if not, you might still have hip pain ...
Time to embrace and celebrate life to the fullest
big warm hug for you and your family

I am so pleased that you have got there in the end. A wonderful end to a very long story. Best wishes for now a great future for you.
Good Luck and positive vibes to you! I walked with an extreme limp throughout the years even with an aid. It will come for you. I hate when people tell me it will take time because I feel like hip issues consume my life but it's true. Just keep exercising and walking and it will come! It's amazing what our bodies go through!
Thank you!😊
Thank you!
Thank you! I am excited to start moving forward in my life journey and not back!
Thank you!😀
Thank you! Yes i am a firm believer everything happens for a reason. I can tell you I appreciate my husband more then I ever could have thought possible the sacrifices he's made for me and my family has made me truly appreciate the people that I have in my life. If we would not have moved I would not have met my wonderful surgeon who probably in a lot of ways saved my life. The first two never cared I was just another patient that they couldn't even remember my name. So even tho we lost a lot over the years I have gained a wonderful prospective on life. The little things the small blessing and just to be able to live each day is a joy to me. I'm excited to start my new life chapter! Thank you for the kind words!
Thank you!
