100 Days!

Well fellow hippies, it's been 100 days since my TRHR  AND I stopped smoking.......  my cravings are manageable though.....  It has definately been a challenge on both ends.  I haven't been on this forum as much I would like ...  my last post was about going back to work......I have been back for a week and a half now and it was a bit rough at first.  Standing still in one spot was a bit difficult and my feet were extremely sore (even though I purchased new shoes)..... i am slowly getting back into the grove.  After 3 months of not working, i had forgotten how much work i really did......  lol.....  my advice to any new hippie out there or any hippie wanting to return to work asap - please be prepared----it's not a walk in the park...... take as much time as you possible can before going back.  Take this time to exercise and strengthen your muscles!!!    All in all, my new hip is doing pretty good.  My other hip needs replaced soon, so that hinders some of my progress.  I am dealing with that day by day.  Just wanted to say hello to everyone in this forum!

Hi Ginny, welcome back, really pleased that your now back at work and things are getting better for you,  day by day, you are quite correct when you say we need to exercise and strengthen how muscles, wish you all the best for the future.

Well done gunny especially for giving up smoking

Ginny, well done and congrats all round. No stopping you now. See that you know joined up in the US Marine Corps ?? ( know Aj meant Ginny but said Gunny).... Lol.  Best wishes and to ensure complete recovery......each day a good cuppa at tea time

Hi Ginny glad all is well ,totally agree ,we really work much harder than we think we do! I have no idea how those hippies who return to work early can possibly manage

Well done.  Don't work too hard!

Sounds good -100 days is quite a milestone: I thought all healed up and done and dusted at 6 weeks, at least according to the phsio leaflets, so realising there is more healing to go, even at 100 days.

_______________

Hi Ginny - well done on your progress. I am 50 days post op. Drove for the first time today - only a 5 minute drive to visit my mum - but then also walked from car down steps into her house - felt good. Giving myself another week before going back to work though. Like you hindered by the fact that the other hip needs doing - limp and pain is all on that side. Take care, and congrats on the giving up smoking. X

That should have said walked without a stick! X

Lol. Glad u worked that out fat fingers and predictive text 😀😀

Thank you everyone.....It's been a journey.....and to think, I need my other hip done soon!

Good luck Ginny and cheers for the advice and chin wags. You have the experience of the good and sadly the bad times when you have the second one done, but at the end of it what quality of life you shall have. Just include more regular tea breaks and a hunky masseurs .....
