Hi all
Stockings should really be worn for 6 weeks to minimise a DVT.i stuck to this as my mum had op and leg came up like a treetrunk.Lot more bother than wearing the stockings
Still walking with one stick after 10 weeks and dont know if this is good or bad.
Had to start bending to put shoes, boots socks etc on after 6 weeks as support care stops then and friends not round all the time- also returniing to work after 11 weeks off
Physio after op was non existant apart from 3 movements i was told to do.
Still in pain and stiff after getting up from sitting a while so hope after few more weeks this will go as i want to return to gym.
Could not fault the hospital care. Was in 4 days including op day and everyone was lovely
I am very happy with our NHS
Happy New Year to you all.
Hi Susan...the exercises do really help...if you can message me your email address i can send you the leaflet i was given with lots of exercises....if you have stairs or a step you can do step ups to help too....I went back to work after 12 weeks but surgeon told me NOT. to use one stick as it makes you limp...so I just did without after 6/7 weeks .....swimming helps too.....
Hi
your still in recovery from your operation 10 weeks please give yourself time to heal.
I had mine in April and having second hip done in February 2015.
i still walk with one crutch physio said it would be better to walk with one crutch and walk comfortable than have no walking aid and walk with a limp
do the exercises and walk abit each day and im sure in time things will settle.
happy new year to you,Susan xx
Hi Denise,
I just saw your comment and thought I would sk you a question, you say you had one thr and are getting the other one done soon, I've just had my first one done on the 26th nov. my problem is I can only do the standing exercises for a short while as my other hip has started hurting really bad I also have to have the right one done next year, my question is, how can people like us with both hips ( buggared) my surgeons words lol , how can we do the same exercises as people with only one hip bad
After 17 weeks i still feel pain and discomfort when standing from a sitting position and will limp until i get going.Back to work at 12 weeks full time in retail so on my feet all day.Really struggled with standing at first could only do 2 hrs max and then had to sit down. Now i can stand 7 hours straight so it does get better.
Hi
interested in what exercise sheet you have. As only got 4 basic ones to do .also what water ones. I use a single crutch now but do limp a bit,
thank you
