I've been on sertraline now for 11 wks and still not over good . The first 5 wks of the tables was the worst time of my life from suicide thoughts to feeling stoned to really bad anxiety , after 11 wks I thought I would feel a lot different , but I dnt . I'm permentley in a bad mood no patience and my anxiety is here most of the time . I'm really struggling can anyone help ?

Hi Leanne,

What mg are you on and have you changed it in that 11 weeks. I would say that you probably need to increase as you should be feeling some relief by now.  Have you been back to dr?

Hi thank you so much for your reply , I've been back to the doctors he said I could increase but it's still early days on 50 mg. I dnt want to increase after the side affects I got at the beginning , I can't go through that

Hi Leanne. Sorry to hear that your having a bad time of it hun x. I think you need to go back to the docs hun and get a review of your meds if the doc. Is not helping you and you don't feel as though your not getting the help you need there is other channels you can go that will help you to recovery. Maybe changing your meds and getting something to calm your anxiety and getting a different SSRI

Oh I hear ya.   3 years ago I was put on tablets and within 3 weeks felt amazing on 50mg.   This time I was back at dr at 4 wks no better so upped to 75 (dr wanted me to do 100) but I was so scared of side effects aswell.  I will say I did get side effects again. It nothing like when first starting and three weeks on 75 mg I was pretty much back to normal.  I still have days but normally it's vefore that time of the month and I am aware of that now.  I would be about 9 weeks now I think smile

Thanks for your reply , what other channels are there ?

Give your body time to heal once that heals your mind will think positive. Hang in there hun x. We are all in this together and we will get through it x

Hi what was your side affects at the beginning 50mg ?

Hi nick

I was on citralpram for 12 yrs , and I don't ever think I felt like this . Don't remember getting bad side affects either . It was the doctors idea to change me as my anxiety had heightened , I wish I'd never of changed . Don't get me wrong on citalopram I was a zombie permentley and all I wanted to do was sleep

There is CBT Therapy talk to your doctor if there is one that you can go to. NHS have CBT. But they could be a waiting list or ask to be reffered to a Crisis team. I went through hell last year and came good. And that was not from my GP. ask to have an assesment and take it from there x

Where do I start... Major heightened anxiety, dry mouth, waking at 4am, not being able to go to sleep, dizzy, feeling just weird, jaw clenching, stiff neck ...

I just don't know if I should just give up on the tablets and just gradually take my self off them , I'm so scared to increase and it all start again . I couldn't cope I have a three yr old who needs me and Benin the state I was I'm no good to him

Thank you for your advice Nick

I hope you feel better in coming days so can you tell me that you have been on 50 mg for 11 weeks?

..

I have yes 11 wks today

No problem hun. You will be fine and get through it. Just try and relax hun i know its easier said then done but give your body some rest x

Sorry  you are feeling low but I think you should increase your dose or maybe change you medicine

As I am also newbie I don't know much about these  medicines but I heard in this forum that people would start feeling better in 8 weeks with same dose

I'm new to this as well , I've read the same just wondered if it took anyone longer or if someone could suggest something

So haven't improve even 50 percent  yet
