Hello, I've started quarter of 50 mg Sertaline ( 12.5 mg ) last night and after 3 hours I've had diarreah and felt anxious inside.... possible these with such a small dosage ? I've had these symptoms before with palpitations... But I am not sure if it's Sertaline or my anxiety. Thanks ---

Hello. The dose you ate taking is very very low. It's common with sertaline to have an upset tummy. Do you think it could be your anxiety after taking the tablet? I know when I first took my 25mg I was a wreck. I know I brought it on myself. It's very early days for you hun but if you can stick with it as it does work. I speak as a unqualified person but one who is also on the sertaline road Good luck x ---

Thanks for you're answer ! I know it's very low but I am so scared to take more ... can't believe that the doctor gave me 50 mg for start .... plus didn't give any sedative which would help... I am really fed up with my physical symptoms as 2 month I can't live my life normally :-( I have hope with this medication but terrified with the side effects... :-( ---

Honey.. no one can be as much of a chicken as what I am when it comes to taking pills... I wouldn't even take vitamins before. I started on 25 stayed on that until I was comfortable. Then went to 50 waited on that until I was comfortable and now I'm on 75 and feeling so much better. The secret is to keep busy and as time goes on the side effects will go and you will start to feel better Your choice is take it and possibly get better or stay where you are. Come on you can do thus. .. We are all here to support My gp gave me diazipam which helped me ---

Hi there Cindy, Yep, this is the second time i'm on 50mg and ii've had constipation followed randomly by diarrhoea, it's normal and will start to tail off after 4 weeks or so, just remember to keep your fluids up by drinking water. If you swing the other way like I did, try Fybogel once a day and have an apple and a small amount of peanuts for constipation - it sorted me out but took a few days to kick in. ---

Ich habe mit 50 mg begonnen und egal wie langsam man es steigert, Sie werden einige unruhige Wochen erleben. Eine so kleine Dosierung und ein so langsames Steigern bedeutet, dass Sie den holprigen Start und die Angst nur verlängern. Ich habe mit 50 mg begonnen und fühlte mich nicht, als wäre ich in dieser Welt, nach zwei Wochen, gerade als ich anfing mich wieder auf der Erde zu fühlen, erhöhte der Arzt es auf 100 mg. In den nächsten Wochen war mein Kopf wieder völlig durcheinander, aber dann beruhigte es sich. Jedes Mal, wenn Sie die Dosierung erhöhen, werden Sie sich seltsam fühlen. Ich würde sagen, beginnen Sie mit 50 mg und bringen Sie diesen schwierigen Teil so schnell wie möglich hinter sich. Drei Monate später und ich fühle mich großartig, es hat sich gelohnt. Hallo,   ---

I agree 12.5 mg is prolonging any good effects i started on 25 mg for few days then 37.5 for a few days then in the 7th day 50 mg i felt rough for abt a wk but then settled down ---
