Hello 12 days after thr and walking without sticks for about 20 steps per day lol
Fantastic!!! Just remember, slow and steady wins the race!!!
I was very aware of my posture and it helped me not to limp!!
Congrats! Ginny USA NJ
Congratulations, keep up the good work but remember not to overdo it.
Congrats! did you have anterior or posterior THR?
posterior so muscle cuts and everithing, i just came from walking without stick inside the house veruy slow and limping but no pain watsoever
im also 12 days post as well, and walking about the house without walking aids, still have muscle pain, sleepless nights too, you are doing well keep going forward. good luck.
Thats gives me hope thank you
what approach did you had?
posterior, had L thr done on Dec 5 and R thr on March 9. My hips were in bad shape, hip dysplcia at 10 yrs old. im now 56, and glad to have it done.
Is this a good idea?
My physio this week - 14 days post op - was very clear that I should walk slowly, carefully, upright, without a limp - and to do that I should use two or one crutches or sticks, whatever it takes. He said to give them up only when I can walk easily without a limp.
If you give up one or both sticks/crutches too soon you might have a lasting limp or imbalance- and that can cause all sorts of back problems and posture problems.
Why give up the crutch too soon? Go for long term not short-term gain. That's my idea, anyway.
Lots of luck and best wishes for a great walking future,
Sally
I agree sally - why give up the cain too soon!!! use it until you really dont need it anymore!!!
Well done to you, i'm similarly two weeks post op. I had superpath procedure, Lthr , i can walk a short distance without aid, but i agree with comments of being cautious regards posture. Guess we just gotta rein it in a bit . But our recovery esp urs with muscles cut is an amazing thing! my leg feels stronger every day
Safe and speedy recovery one and all. Jay
