12 weeks post op & GP signed me off...

hi! Am now almost 12 weeks post surgery after double bunions & pins & straightening etc. was aiming to return to work next week so have been increasing activity, dog walks, driving etc. experiencing swelling under feet around fore feet and pain when walking so went to see GP. As I reach full time, he doesn't think I am fit to go back till after Easter so signed me off. Know this is sensible thing as I an sore, but frustrated that my recovery has taken a step back and am now being advised to rake things easier etc.... Anyone had so liar? Mx

Teach full time....oops!

Hi. You obviously have not yet healed sufficiently well to go back to work. The doctor knows best so even although you may be bored a de at your independence fence back, you need to take their advice. Asan ex teacher aim is how hard your day can be on your feet. Remember that you can not sit down she you start to ache so follow advice. It will be worth it I. The end rather tha. Having to have further surgery! People heal at different rates - some are really fast and some are a bit slower. It is disappointing when you are one of the slower ones. My progress in he first ) weeks was fab but thereafter it has been slower. Disappointing but , as my friend says - 'we are where we are'. Good luck

Hi Melinda, I never had any 'pins' so not sure what they were. You are very brave to have both feet done at once. My toe turned out crooked, and I've been back to see the Director who is doing my other foot and he agrees with me that it isn't as it should be. All that pain and still looks like I have a bunion and crooked toe!
