Hello (I’m 48 years old & BRCA+)
I had my ovaries removed 13 years ago and went into surgical menopause.
Now it’s 2019 and I have severe hot flashes and extreme nausea (plus…night sweats, headaches, weight loss, vomiting).
My doctor immediately thought menopause but I don’t have my ovaries for 13 years now.
Can you go through a 2nd menopause?
My doctor did check my thyroid and all is ok there.
Any info would be helpful,
Thank you!!!

How long have you had these symptoms? I had similar symptoms when I had gallbladder issues. Are the hot flashes all day? I hope your doctor checks more than your thyroid.
I have been having the hot flashes and nausea and vomiting since April (I remember Easter was not very pleasant). I had my gallbladder out in 2001 and my thyroid “they say” is normal. My family doctor doesn’t seem to know what else to check. I feel like she is thinking it is still menopause just now that I am actually at the age of when it would happen (I’m 48). This is why I am so confused. Since I had my ovaries out 13 years ago and never went on HRT and never use any estrogen and absolutely ZERO symptoms since I had my surgical menopause immediately long ago.
Hot flashes/nausea come every day and sporadically. I keep searching for information on menopause occurring twice. ugh I’m at such a loss on where to turn next ![]()
