14 days after anterior hip replecement , doing not so bad, still little bit pain and still my tight is little bit swollen and numb . I have first check up on Wednesday and all seems to be fine i was told by surgeon. I had dissolved stiches wchich is good. I can use cane inside the house but walker frame outside. On Friday i feel so down ,I cray one of the bad days wchich I remember from last time when i have left hip done. I felt so Hoples and I hate relay on onether people for help and here Im relay on friends now. Generally Im happy I went trough hip operation again least after while I will be and hopefully will be pain free even now is still long way to go. If any one hesitate to have hip replecement done, dont hesitate go for it even if you have to go trough pain ,bad days , be done. You have lots of people on this forum who will help you ,give you advice. In my experience I wouldn't have go trough without this site. This forum is so great and is like family to me.
Well done Madla your doing great, had to smile cause I thought you meant your tights we're tight 😂😂😂 thighs I think it meant, give them a rub and moisturizer if you're able
Hi ,sometime my English is funny . So fare not so bad ,hopefully stay this way and gradually get better. I will use some moisturizer and give my leg rub.
Hi Madla! So good to hear that you're recovery is going well. I shall be 4 weeks post total hip on Thurs and this was my first replacement surgery. I've had a number of complications following the procedure and it is only now that my anxiety levels are starting to reduce. I posted a few weeks back with regards to extreme swelling of my thigh and knee, alongside severe nerve damage. I was overwhelmed by the responses and advice from others and I am pleased to say that I was able to get the swelling under control by the end of week 2. I have a lovely folk on here to thank for all their advice.
This is the best forum I have ever come across and like yourself, I don't know where I would be without the support of others on here.
Wishing you all the best with the rest of your recovery and thank you for the positive message.
Thank you Catherine for such a nice message. Sorr hear you have some complications following the procedure. I hope is getting better. My first hip replecement was done different way and was very painful for 8 weeeks even longer. The right one was done Anterior and less pain ,no restrictions just have to be careful and not drive. Swelling slowly going down .
Im you are doing better and remember the heeling take time. Every body heeling difrently. I know from first hip replecement. Im glad op is behind me . Take and sending you heeling hug. Take care Madla💗💗
Hi Madia, sounds like you’re doing well . There are hard days, as you know from last time; hang on in there, take your time, and rest when you need to.
I will Judith , i will take my time with recovery. I still remember my first hip and hard days as well. So fare is better than my first hip and im glad for that but I also know from last time the hard days can still come. Thank you
I am positive that your friends do not think of you as a burden...... don't be sad. Everyone that deals with pain has a day here or there they wish they didn't have.... I am glad that you are healing and getting better. I am sure your friends cannot wait to see you smiling and laughing all the time again.
hi madla glad to hear you are now doing well with recovery well done and keep your chin up never feel like a burden everyone will be happy to help you.
I am 6 weeks post hip replacement and fingers crossed 🤞 all going very well I am off my crutches and can take my dog out for a walk on my own again which is the best feeling 🐶 I've had my 6 week check up and am going for Physio to keep me on track but overall all very pleasing. My surgeon told me at check up that he had had one hip replacement patient which has lasted 34 years which is amazing so hope for all us hippies 😁
Hi Karen glad to hear you are doing fine. I know every one will help me but I feel like burden to everyone. I live on my own and I used to everything by self and now I can't. Im doing OK except Yeastreday I had some pain wich keep me wake till 3 AM. Today is not so bad. I still using walker frame for outside but inside home I can use cane. My physio starting 3 of the May
Hydro therapy. Overall im doing not so bad beter than my first hip nearly 18 months ago.. First hip was done posterior and this one Anterior. Less pain this time than last time. Diferent Surgeon and very nice one as well .
I know I'm not burden to them but I live on my own and I get use to do everything by my self and now I can't. Yes we all have a day here or there and we wish didn't have. I should know better when I have first hip done.
Im not doing so bad overall. Thank u you for such a nice and lovely message Hug Madla💗
hi madla-i so understand you getting depressed and hating having to rely on people,so did I,living on own with 3 dogs,i really didnt have a choice-im ten weeks post op,now,NOW i get depressed cos im not progressing as fast as i think I ought to!.but you sound like youre doing well.its definately an exercise in learning patience and humility! best of luck!x
Im doing not so bad this time, sure I do have some pain but not so bad like first hip replecement . With first hip I started feel better after about 11 weeks. Don't get depres every body heeling difrently. Heeling take time. It's brutal operation. Im not really patience person and with left hip replecement I did feel I have not done any progress . First my hip was done differently than second one. You will get there just take day by day and mostly look after your self. It's realy hard to relay on friends if you are independent most of your life. Get better soon. Hug Madla💗💗
