Hi all,

I have been diganosed with Cubital Tunnel Symdrone and have been told I need surgery. Has anyone here had surgery? And do you feel better after?

Any hints would be much appreciated.

I have  had carpal tunnerl syndrome surgery on both wrtist back in the 80,s and 

healing took about two weeks. That's a short time compared to other surgeries.

Yes, the numbness went away so it was worth having the procedure. The surgery was done with local anesthetic. You have nothing to fear.

Thanks for the advice! I am in my last year of high school and I didn't want to take the time off but I stuggle sleeping becasue of it.

Carpal tunnel syndrome and cubital tunnel syndrome are two completely different conditions (sorry alpine). Both are rare in 15 year olds unless there is a specific underlying injury or predisposition of some kind (like a broken wrist or elbow). The first thing here ZRA is to make sure we are talking about the right condition - do you want to reveal a bit more of your symptoms/history and tell us how the diagnosis has been reached? As Dr. Bland says Cubital tunnel syndrome is something completely diffrent. I'm only familiar with Carpal Tunnel.

hi mate. the reason of pain and numbness when you are in bed is that your hand bends when you are sleeping and stays in bent position till the hand goes to sleep as a result and the pain wakes you up. surgery will solve the issue. but, till then...get a wrist support, then one that covers your palm and abobe your wrist. this keeps your hand straight in line with the arm and dont let your nerves go under pressure. so, you wont feel pain as your hand wont go to sleep.

dont tight the suppost too much. just enough to keep your hand straight is enough.

Again this advice from Mike is about carpal tunnel syndrome, not cubital tunnel syndrome. We don't know for sure which one is being asked about here - we seem to have a question about cubital tunnel syndrome being asked in a carpal tunnel syndrome forum and the two are easily confused by the patient (and even by some doctors!)

Whenever I click Cubital Tunnel, it puts the forum here in the Cubital tunnel?

I don't think there is a forum specifically for cubital tunnel syndrome here. If you search the site for ulnar neuropathy you will find some information and there is also a page devoted to ulnar neuropathy on my own site (you will find a link to this under 'related information' to the right.
