hi All, well in 16 hours I will be at the hospital awaiting my new hips, bit scared, but hey will get through it.

Good luck to Cornishpixe and gillcat who also will be getting their new hips, I will be thinking of you both. I hope to be home Monday or Tuesday so will try and make contact then.

Hi Kaye it is the best thing I have ever done.  I am 4 weeks post op, I can walk futher than I have for ages and no pain in that hip at all.  I send you best wishes and healing thoughts take care x Magd

Good luck , I had my right hip replaced a week today , the op was a doddle the after bit not so much lol , wishing you a speedy recovery x

Hi Kaye,  14 hours to go, need to pack my case. Everything is ready. Like you feeling scared too but looking forward to the other side and a different kind of pain. Lots of love to you and Cornish. I am hoping to be home Monday or Tuesday too, probably the latter as it's Bank Holiday weekend Hope the traffic doesn't get busy in hospital / Good Luck to both xxx

Hi Kaye I had my first one done on Saturday I was home on Tuesday, and operation was a great success, leg is swollen but pain relief with 2 Tramadol 50mg works, And I am fine around the flat with a stick and will use crutches outside for a week or so, and I can stand unaided too no pain in my right knee as I was scared I had done that in too, but dont seem so, left one next year, I have found a good toilet seat riser, and will put up a piece about it now.

It's great I don't have the hip pain it's just replaced with post op pain , it's hard work but worth it in the end , I am only a week out so still early days , you will be fine I am sure , I have to have my left hip done too and I am not worried about it so it can't be that bad lol x

Hi Ian, lovely to know your doing well, my right knee hurts at the moment I wonder if it because my hips are bad,

have a a toilet seat raiser from the hospital . Seems ok

Hi Jill, yes I'm having both done at the same time, as both bone on bone , if I only had one done wouldn't feel the. Benefit of it.

Its difficult not to be scared as it's a major operation. Be positive and think about the end result ..."PAIN FREE"

Nearly 4 months since I had my thr and each day I honestly feel so so happy and thankful that I can now walk without any pain & discomfort , no more limping and I started wearing high heel shoes which I wasn't able to wear for such a long time.

Hospitals don't worry about bank holidays they will still send you out xx

Good luck Kaye , I think you are doing the right thing having the two done , I am 9 weeks after two being done and I took my dog out on a lead today , feeling good , all the best , Ruth
