16 Weeks Post Op

Last Wednesday at 16 weeks Post Op and I went to play Ice Hockey.  Yes I said Ice Hockey!!

Just make sure nobody whacks your hip with a stick!

Well done on your recovery. But as people keep telling me, don't forget that it's still early days, so don't overdo things. Don't set yourself back....

Wow. that's fantastic, who are you SUPERMAN.   INCIDENTLY what age are you?

Carry on the good work and good luck.

Regards Margaret

Thanks Margaret, I am 47

Yeah I was nervous to play but also wanted to know if I could handle it.  I did fine but decided to give it a couple more weeks before I give it another try.  Plus I'm going to buy some extra padded shorts.

Well done but don't get carried away easy though that is!

Cheers Richard

That is amazing. Well done you. Steady tho as all posts say, but what a joy to be sporting again.

Excellent news! Good idea to buy some padded shorts, I bought some really good ones and was back on my skis at Easter. (I'm 9 months post op though.) Enjoy your hockey!

Hey John, congrats on getting back on the ice. It was a big deal for me, too. In fact I held off on surgery for a long time thinking I wouldn't be able to play,. Big mistake! I'm skating like I'm 20 years younger. I've had a couple of falls onto my hip which worried me at first. I added some extra padding to my pants on that side tho and that helped. Have fun. I think you'll find you'll get stronger and stronger.  i had some muscle innervation issues and still feel like I'm getting the some new nerve stimulation . You might find that too. It's amazing.

Some background. I'm 54 and coming up on 1 year. I skated at 11 weeks and played my first game a couple of weeks later.

Best of luck on the ice!

Wow .... congratulations John ... that must have been a lot of tossing and turning before making the final decision ...

take care -

big warm hug

That's fantastic.

At 13 weeks I'm now riding my horse pain free. Still need help holding my horse while I get on and off though.

Thanks Jcc.

John

Well done. I hope you were well padded.
