I write my story here with the hope of finding some information on my problems. a year and a half ago I had a gallbladder surgery (April 29, 2019) before the surgery I had nausea, dyspepsia and indigestion. they found me biliary sludge and numerous small stones in the gallbladder. 10 days after the surgery my symptoms are back even worse than before and they persist until now. I’ve also had better times during the past year but most of the times I feel bad. my symptoms are nausea (which does not allow me to sleep in the night) lack of appetite, belching, a slight pain under the right ribs, bitter taste in my mouth, and the days that I am very sick I have green stools! (not diarrhea) I have done many tests such as gastroscopy, abdominal ultrasound, various blood and stool tests, magnetic resonance cholangiopancreatography. but almost all of them came back negative. the only one that was not very normal was pancreatic elastase which was 135 while the minimum values are 200. but my doctor says that this alone does not mean anything because other values are normal! but i continue to be sick even i have been on a diet for months and eat very simple foods. (no fat, no alcohol, no spices …) I am very frustrated. Will there really be an end to this nightmare? on some sites I have read that some patients continue to have the symptoms of before the surgery even after that. but I didn’t understand this means that I always have to live with this nausea or one day it will settle down? I live in Italy and it seems that the doctors here don’t know much about this.
Have your doctors considered SIBO (small intestinal bacterial overgrowth)?
No, they didn’t!! can my symptoms be caused by SIBO? Even if I don’t have diarrhea and abdominal pain?
