who received faulty defective parts from New Jersey company....each person will receive between $300,000 and $1million for their pain and suffering, I tried to post the whole article, but got stopped by moderators.....
I don't think faulty parts are my issue but a faulty surgery did happen and talking to a chiro I had seen a year or more prior to surgery she and I agreed most likely the fact that I've had a lower back OA issues for years kept me from a smoother surgery outcome.
So I go on with what I am left with trying to save myself from any other surgery......she did ultra sound on knee today, used wedges to try to balance the back some and activator and heat on shoulders and foot/ankle..... Life!!!! joy 76 US
Thank you for that info on hip faulty parts. I called one on tv but they told me it had to be after 2007 and metal on metal. So I dont know if mine qualifies. I bet you are tired of surgery too. It gets old. Lots of people have said I am lazy or I fake it or I like surgery. I would give anything to be back at work. Good luck with your situation.
Hi Joy,
I remember there was an issue with Depuy the makers of hip parts back in the 90's and they had to do revision and a lawsuit. But that is cool get recompensated for something a surgeon's mistake.
Wouldn't hurt asking a lawyer and they usually do not charge unless they win the case.
My parts is made by Depuy and they had guaranteed 30 years. I pray it would last my lifetime.
From the article I believe these are Stryker...my parts are smith & nephew..
I wonder how I can find out what company made my hip components.
I wonder how I can find out what company made my hip components. my surgeon said.my hip would only last about fifteen years. And so far its fourteen
ok i heard of the Stryker.
these past issues was corrected i hope so.
Hi cam57475 mine is Depuy synthes guaranteed for 30 years.
I received a booklet along with a patient ID identifiying my new hip in case i have to pass through a metal detector in airports or government buildings.
Can't you ask surgeon what type was used? If I didn't know I would do that....I also requested a surgery report on my 2nd or 3rd visit to surgeon and they made me a copy of it....they didn't offer it......I've learned to be so PRO ACTIVE, younger and naive and now older and wiser and ASK a lot of questions or find my own answers.....
no wonder my surgeon didnt see me last visit i ask too many questions LOL
I found out by phoning my consultant's secretary.
