So I have been up since 5.30am yesterday, just completed a 13 hour night shift, now to sleep before a 15 hour night shift tonight. I am struggling to walk if I am honest only 13 weeks but needs must!! Still its still in place and stood up to me Being on it for 28 hours.x
Why on earth were you up at 5.30AM if you were on a night shift?are you on your feet all the time? don't you think perhaps you are trying to do too much all at once, perhaps going back to work on reduced hours for a while would be more beneficial. If you can't good luck but do be careful xx
Oh Rachel
That sounds like some going to me!
Do be careful not to do too much- your health is so important - without that you can do nothing
Can you not phase work in not quite so full on?
you just take care
Linda xx
Wow!
Do be careful, sounds very arduous
like others say can you not do fewer hours to start with? If not be careful. What do you do?
Lots of love

Dearest Rachel .. give your self a big pat on the back girl ... is it a big clinic with a lot of overnight staying animals? are you by your self ??? are you back full time?
like 5 nights in a row? Do you like your job? maybe a silly question npw that you are still challenged by the walking etc ... but still ... it does matter a lot when you at least like what you are doing ....
try to take it easy and have a good rest darling ...
warm hug

I think that that is some endurance test. What do you do, and can you do your job as you would like if you can hardly walk. Hope it is a phased return you are on so you get some recovery time soon
Hi Rachel
I can't believe you just did that! Amazing! Hope you are not suffering too much. I'm 10 weeks post op and I certainly wouldn't be able to do what you have managed right now. Look after yourself

I can't imagine what sort of employer allows a worker to do a 13 hour and then a 15 hour night shift when they have recently had a major operation. I hope you don't work in the health service, though it sounds as though you might,
I wouldn't want a doctor or nurse looking after me when they were not fully fit themselves.
Top marks to you for endurance, but I think your employer should be sued for exploitation.
I suppose it is pointless to tell you to take it easy! You obviously won't. But is your job and the long hours involved really necessary? Can you perhaps do fewer hours or a different job?
Well done I start back on 22nd I will only be 10 weeks part of me is wondering if I am still going back too soon
Wow Rachel very well done!
As I wrote earlier today, isn't it great to get your life back. as an ex nurse tutor I feel especially pleased for you...
And, as other wisely say on this forum, rest and pacing is essential too, so don't even try housework or anything....sleep!
As Renee says, too many nights together is quite a big step.
If all goes well, great, but enjoy your days off.
if you are shattered, and you know better than most it's a big operation we've all had, then see HR and get some more time off.
Great you takiing the fab opportunity this op gives, but hurry slowly!

I am a veterinary nurse. I am so pleased as I have just seen the physio and he said my hip is doing really well and I haven't done any damage .Sometimes I have to push myself to see what I can really achieve. X
Hi Rachel....sounds like u doing really well! A bit of testing of yourself sounds good too...

Back in again tonight Mic and then that's it until Saturday night. I wasn't supposed to but after 13 weeks off o really need the money! I usually only do weekends.x
Hi Rachel ... wonderful news and congratulations !!!
what does your job involve? I am assuming that these are animals (pets?) who need some type of care (duh, right?) - is it a very physical job or more watching the, giving them their meds - i am guessing here ... don't want to downplay any of it, I just think what a wonderful job you are doing .... as a pet owner I always wonder what is going on at night when my baby is kept the night ....
sorry, a little off hippy topic
warm hug
Hey Rachel
Gosh so soon....hope its a good shift. I love night shifts sometimes...it's like time stops still.
Look after yourself and your new hip.
