1st outbreak still ongoing 2 months on!

Hi. I got diagnosed with herpes type 2 over 2 months ago. I had unprotected sex on a one night stand, 3-4 days later I had pain when passing urine. I thought it was chlamidia, next day or so my throat started hurting and I thought it was tonsillitis and so did the doctor. At this point there was no itching or symptoms on my genitals. I was prescribed antibiotics and given 2 tablets for the painful urinating which the doctor also guessed at being chlamidia. Other the next few days I had chronic throat pain, couldn't eat, barley drink and I had developed blisters on the back of my tounge. I shown the doctor but he still said it was tonsillitis. Few days later after searching the internet I was certain it was herpes type 2. I had a swab taken by the doctor which confirmed this. A week later I developed a little cluster of small white spots on my penis (only seen when the foreskin is pulled back). I was given antiviral tablets, I had a repeat perscribtion which I took and there has been absolutely no change. I still have the lesions in my mouth on my penis. I'm beginning to think I have these forever and they will never go. I've searched the net hi and low for similar stories but yet to find any. I have cut down on drinking alchohol and I eat plenty of fruit and vedge, I have always been fit and healthy. I make sure I drink at least 5 pints of water daily.

Does anybody have anything they can suggest? Is it worth asking for a second look from the doctor? But the swab proved it was herpes type 2 and all the symptoms show it was.

Help please. Thanks

I wrote the above when I was waiting to see the doctor. I have just come out and he said my tounge is completely normal. What I'm thinking is herpes lesions/blisters are tounge papillae? I told him they only appeared when I was ill and diagnosed with herpes type 2. He laughed it off and told me it's a normal tounge it's just I've never looked so far back in my mouth before! Is he taking the mick or what?!?

I then shown him my penis which he said.... Get this..... Is normal!!!! What!? I have little white spots on the hood of my penis and that's normal! It's been there since I got herpes!! Christ! I'm going back to see another doctor ASAP.

I know I have herpes type 2 as the swabs are 99.99999 correct right?

A positive swab should be accurate. It's the negative ones that can be false. Was it a viral culture or pcr swab out of interest? Do the spots on your penis hurt, and is it red/swollen? Might be a good idea to see another doctor for a second opinion either way. You can even try swabbing the spots again to see if they're still being caused by herpes. A first outbreak shouldn't last two months, but sometimes other issues caused by the outbreak may persist.

Might have warts .

Herpes lesions shouldn't stay Around that long at all

Hi. Thanks for the reply. I do not know what know what type of swab it was to be honest - sorry. No my penis is not itchy and neither is my tounge. And nor is it swollen or red.

I'm going to ask for a second opinion for sure. I do not argue that I have herpes type 2. I'm not trying to persuade myself it all could be a mistake and I've got something else.

I'm going back on Saturday when I know a decent doctor who I've been to before will be in.

Do they grow on the tounge though? And they are tiny white spots on my penis and when I google herpes the images are almost identical to what I have. And the swab tests came positive for herpes type 2?

But I have had genital warts in the passed? So maybe??

What do i do??
