2 week post op

Had my 2 week post op appointment today. Surgeon was happy with everything, said the aches and pains im still getting are perfectly normal. Can last for 3 months or more. Allowed to start VERY gentle finger walk exercises for next 4 weeks. Most of his patients like myself sleeping in lounge recliner up to 6 weeks......I find it the most comfortable place for sleeping. Ok to keep taking my one Targin and one Endone for sleeping. Keep wearing sling for another 4 weeks......HAPPY HAPPY HAPPY.....heading in the right direction 😀

Great news Kerri!! Slowly, slowly but onward and upward! I've been to the physio this morning, which I was dreading but he was lovely and was very gentle. He's very pleased with my R.O.M and has given me a resistance band and lots of stretches to do. Not sure he'll be so nice next time, says ive got to build up the muscles again which is lots of hard work but I'm determined to get my arm and my life back!!

Right, I'm off to ice my shoulder and have a lie down!!

Hope you sleep well. Lots of love. Xxx

Thanks Luvvy......I'm not allowed muscle strengthening till at least 3 months post op. Good luck with your hard muscle building work 😊,

Yep,I'm think I'll be bedding down early tonight.....feeling pooped ❌❌❌

Aw Kerri, so pleased for you. Its always a relief to know you heading in the right direction. I've had a bit of a breakthrough in the last week so when I went for physio this morning I was bouncing :-) He said he was so pleased with my shoulder we would celebrate by ramping up the weights and rotational excersises ............................. Great! and ouch!!!!! However, he softened the blow by telling me I could start riding my horse again (as long as I promised not to fall off) OH HAPPY DAY could've kissed him!! Of course it was the first thing I did when I got home :-) :-D :-) :-) probably won't be able to walk tomorrow as I haven't ridden since the beginning of November but who cares?!?! Sorry but had to share as I am so happy. I am praying hard your recovery continues without a hitch. Hugs xxx

Well done Kerri, so happy you are doing well.  I  saw the surgeon yesterday, he was really pleased and said no need for an injection, movement is good and I dont need to see him until mid June, when he will sign me off, if all carries on well.  Physio was good today, painfull as usual, but can now undo bra strap.....hooray!!  Am now stepping up to resistance bands for strength training.

So happy you are all doing so well after surgery....keep stretching!!

Lol.......Maude.....you get a seat belt on that horse 😳

thats GREAT and WONDERFUL news that you have progressed that far....I think I can see you smiling from all the way over here in Oz 😜

Now you be damn careful that you don't cause yourself an injury with that NEW YOU bounce!!!!!! Thanks for your well wishes and hugs and I'm sending some ALL the way back to you 😘❌❌❌

Oh Cheryl that is great news for you too Hun. Undoing your bra......NOW THAT IS A BIGGY.......we all understand that one cause for most of us (no I know not you Jim) it's a distant memory of something we have not been able to do for a VERY long time. Well done and Congrats to you 😘❌❌❌❌

Down you worry, I have no intention of hurling myself off and going back to that sling malarky lol Not seeing physio for 3 weeks now so hopefully, with the new excersises, it will be even better by then ............. and to top it off the suns shining woo hoo!! Hope your sleeping better. Walked the legs off my dogs when I was in a sling, helped me sleep no end B-) xx
