It's 2 weeks today since I had my op LTHR. I have just had my 18 staples removed and the nurse said she has not seen such a lovely clean uninfected incision for a long time, guess thats all down to my surgeon. For that I thank him. I have been doing my excercises 3 times a day, walking apart from round the house twice a day I'm now up to 315 metres doesn't seem much but I've had enough when I get home. I'm still not sleeping some nights very well just 2 hour dozes but catch up during the day. I have been knitting for my grandson to keep me occupied while resting. I also help with the pots after our evening meal that makes me feel as if I'm doing something useful. Every day I feel a bit stronger and love life itself now that the pain has gone. Will do even more tomorrow when I can have a shower for the first time since op Yippee !! fed up of strip washes, I never feel clean. I'm down from 11 painkillers a day (pre-op) and orimorph to 1 naproxen morning and night. For those of you waiting for your ops believe me it's the best thing I've done in years lol. Next update next week when I go see the physios.

Hi Gill
So pleased for you
My op is next Wednesday 10th June - have forgotten what it feels like to have some energy and no pain
Just want to feel 'normal' again - so encouraging to hear you are doing well
Kind regards Linda
Great to hear you are doing so well.,xx
Well done! At least you can relax and enjoy the weather! Hope all goes well! Regards Amanda
Whoop whoop Gill!
Nice going! You'll LOVE that first shower! Mine lasted well over 30 minutes 😁
Keep going, it is so worth it once you find you can do things that had been rendered nigh impossible again 😉
I am like yourself I had the staples out on 25th may, I still got sore thigh and swollen leg and ankle, the ankle so much so I can't even bend it properly, I did a load of walking today, no doubt I will pay for it tomorrow, night time is bad for me I can't sleep properly and of course I end up waking hubby and end up snapping at each other I did try some my top sleep aid that didn't even work I ended up last night having 2 cocodomol and within was sound asleep again it's a bit of a bugger to put up with all the aches and pains just to have a new hip lol
and you will Linda it's such a lovely feeling.
Just to add to the above, it was such a lovely afternoon... after going in the car to the doctors, Alan took me to Sandringham, 4 miles away, I walked and walked and walked it was lovely I think I might know about it tomorrow but hey I enjoyed every minute of it. For those who know Sandringham I walked from the car park right down to the gates of the chrch and back. I did stop for a salted caramel ice cream half way thoough Shame Liz wasn't in though, or I would have stopped for tea
