2 wk post op finally today was a good day

I finally see that this lil 6 inch scar still bandage up was indeed worth it...this has been truly a more mental than sometimes physical journey thus far...especially between me and my meds. but after one of our fellow hippies told me a great way to wean myself off i have been feeling much better so thanks...and yesterday at my PT...he asked if i wanted to try the exercise without my walker...and i said yes only because i'm a competitor and my mom was looking on proud...but i actually was able to take a few steps without limping...i reached back for my walker quickly...even though it was just two steps..but i was able to do squats and lunges..i even did a kick.. so i feel like my future is bright...so anyone who is still in the early stages of recovery...just hang in there...eventually all that complaing will turn into smiles and you stating how far you have come

Glad things are starting to come together 😀

Just wait and see how good you are at weeks 3, 6, and 12. My scar was about 12"

Brittni, glad you are doing so well! But...take it easy so that you don't have any soft tissue damage this early on. The bones that were cut and the soft tissues that were stretched and stitched need a certain amount of time to heal, and there is no rushing that. My surgeons don't allow squats or lunges until 12 weeks out, just to avoid injury. This is not a competition! After your tissues heal, then you can work on strengthening. Just my two cents worth!

Yey!! Pleased for you Hun!!! Keep up the good work.

10 days post op! Only 4 days behind you Mrs!

Yes i know...i read ur posts too because i feel like you are my hippie twin in spirit...alot of what u post i can relate too...thanks for the kind words....best of wishes to u and your recovery

I appreciate your two cents and i would never do anything against doctors orders...my surgeon actually gave me the green light for my workout...he gave me no restrictions even though i still give myself some restrictions...and while doing the squats and everything else my PT had like this rope tied around my chest to catch me...my PT already told me his goal is to have me walking in two weeks without my walker so we shall see...however i am still listening to my body more than my trainer so if it tells me i need a break...i reach for the closest chair and have a seat

Ouch 12'' but its just a scar...it shows toughness and strength...cant wait for the 6 week mark where hopefully i can drive...ive probably havent spent this much time in a house since 1987 and that was the year i was born in

That's good to hear!
