has anyone taken this med celexa for 20+ years to help stabalize anxiety?? i am just curious if it has shown to effect your heart or anything else. i have been on this med a long time and worry about long term side effects.my dr says to stay on it as long as it is helping w anxiety. i honestly dont know if it is or not ive been on it so long but am terrified to get off. have been having minor heart palps on occasion that i never used to geti cant even believe my self inhave taken this med for that long 
I took it for 16 years and was told I could stay on it for life … I used to get little heart skips (though there was absolutely nothing wrong at all) and now off the meds I still get these little skips (thats what it feels like). I’ve had an ECG and have a perfectly healthy heart.
Get checked out to make sure all is ok - which I’m sure it is.
If your doctor is ok with you staying on them, then I don’t see a problem. If they help you then stay on them.
