20mg down to 10mg

I’ve been on 20mg of escitalopram for 20 months and been feeling confused and having mood swings

So 4 weeks ago GP said to go down to 10mg I was doing 20mg then 10mg for 10 days then stay on 10mg it’s been 4 weeks and I feel terrible head feel numb moody and anxious.

Just wondering if anyone gone from 20mg to 10mg and felt this way ?

If so how long did it last ?

Don.. I've not yet went down on Lexapro so I'm no help but to feel as u do I would contact my pharmacist and speak with him/her for they know how the drug works... I would also contact my Dr. And share with him how u r feeling.. There is no need for u to b miserable..Good Luck and Take Care 😊

Hi Don,

Maybe should have dropped to 15mg, not go directly to 10mg. I would go back to 15mg today and do that for a month and then try going to 10. I would definately have rescue medication for my Lexapro ride down (ativan or klonazapam when you feel anxiety).

Phone pharmarsist up yesterday and he said the drop from 20mg to 10mg mite be to much he said go up to 15mg for a while and see how it goes 🤣

Don... I’m doing ok..I had to bump down from 15 mg. To 12.5 then to 10.0 I’m hoping no withdrawal.. this is day 3of being on10 mg. And I’m doing better than when I was on 15 and 12.5.. praying I have no withdrawal but I’m waiting for day 4 because that’s when my side effects Kohls CK in after I bump up a mg. So we will see...Take Care.. Hope u adjust to your bump down..

Don I’m a little off today but it’s not bad.. yes I’m sure it’s from the bump down in your lex.. take care and  keep in touch as to how u r doing and I’ll do the same .. This is a journey like no other..😊
