I took 20mg daily back in 2009 for about six months I went off of them cold turkey (didn't know it was bad at the time) and had a panic attack two weeks after. Ever since then, I have had mild anxiety. Anyways, the last few months, I simply could not shake my anxiety like I normally can. So I took a big step and went back on them.
Other than some insomnia and feeling disconnected sometimes, I haven't really had horrible side effects. Did anybody else go through a "gentle" Citalopram cycle?
I recently upped my dose to 30mg and havnt had any terrible ones, I've actually slept better the past two nights, the only major one I've been having is like a yucky feeling, uneasy stomach and flu like symptoms just tired and feel blah. Hoping that's going to be the extent of it, today will be day 6 on the increased dose and 8 weeks total, also have had a headache until this afternoon it seemed to have giving me a break lol
The only crappy (no pun intended) side effect I've had is diarrhea...only after a bigger meal though. I've seen A LOT of people complain about headaches farther into it. Cold/flu-like symptoms are common too. I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one without horrible side effects. Everyone is different though.
Yea after I got terrible ones when I first started I was very sure the increase was gonna be horrible but surprisingly not so far. I've also read tho they can take up three weeks to start having them after initially starting or after increase, hopefully we are the lucky ones for something in our life cause we def arnt lucky for having this crap at all lol
