21 days post op ....

Hi everyone, hope you all doing well.

Well here I am 3 weeks post op.I still cannot believe the Old pain has gone.

I think I am doing ok. Had the second half of my clips out on Tuesday, which was a bit stingy as the skin had grown over, but it feels good to have them out.

Had physio come round this Wednesday ,I was so pleased to see him,to find out if I was doing ok, he showed me some new exersizes and he was horrified at my stairs, (I live in a tiny flat on first floor on my own) My steps everyone hates, they have the most stupid tiles on you could put on the outside. He has forbidden me to go near them if its damp or wet.If I have to to make sure someone near.AAnyway we went for a little walk and it was fab outside .

Im using 1 crutch inside and 2 outside as its quite uneven outside.

Last night I slept right thru, hope its not a fluke lol I seem to want to wee loads in the night lol

taking it one day at a time, had cancer last year, and after operation did to much, ended up back in hospital, just hours away from organ shutdown and coma with infection, so Im trying to be very sensible and do what Im told, lol which is difficult because I think im behind , but ive promised everyone Il be good.

This site has and is so helpful, and you all are so supportive. Its made it easier.

I am scared of doing something that will effect my hip, and my stairs make me feel sick, lol actually they make everyone feel sick. Yesterday they were dry so I went up and down and a short walk, So I was pleased ,but boy was I careful. Each day is getting better.

Still got swelling around my knee but my fot not so much now, pain killers only now and then, not very often as they really block me lol, we all know that one.

Gosh Im waffling away here, sending out healing and positive vibs to you all. Hope you have a fabulus weekend and thank you all for being you .

You make the journey not so lonely. xxxxxx

All sounding good! Well done! After what u endured last year this should be a piece of cake!! X

Hi Jo

Sounds like you are doing great, I am 3.5 weeks now and about the same as you have been going out for walks most days but then I only have a small step to negotiate and the usual stairs in the house. Just looking at yours makes me feel ill!!! But persevere and be careful. In a few months time we will be wondering what we were worrying about.

Take care

Julie

Hi Julia

Thank you , thats good to hear,Thats a good thought to hold

Glad your doing good.

Best wishes Jo

Hi ya Gaby,

Thank you , Yes thats true, Hope you ok

xx

Much better day today ( so far lol)

Thats good to hear,

Jo,

you seem to be progressing well - just make sure you don't overdo it - most of us have at some point.

I am 4 weeks now, and went out on 1 stick today - feeling better with every day that passes.

How good it feels to be rid of those clips.

I also have suffered from wanting frequent trips in the night - now down to 2 or 3 most nights.

Take care, especially on those stairs.

Graham

dear jo,

good Lord, that is daunting .... your PT is right - at least for the coming week(s) do not attempt to go down/up stairs when it is damp or wet -

where did I read that someone (Gaby maybe?) doing stairs while sitting - bumpy road but perhaps safer ...

come here anytime okay .... we are all one ... connected at the hip(s)

big warm hug

renee

Hi Graham

Im trying not to overdo stuff, its so tempting but I made promises not to.

Those clips, yeah sure was good to be rid of them, preverble pain in the bum lol (think my spelling was a bit off there.

Still cant beleive you have to go thru it again, your going to be a cyber expert, and bless Mrs Graham.

Hope you have done all your chopping now,

Those stairs ........ no comment ....... lol

Hi Renee

We certainly are all connected at the hip thank you for your kind words .Hope you doing well , hugs

Yes, my wife is absolutely marvellous, the least I can do is to chop up some onions and do some dishes - standing is no problem at all.

She's now even talking about writing a sequel to her book about her family's WW2 experiences. That will keep her even busier.

Graham

Hi Vanessa,

Your allowed to be scared, I was petrified to,be sure to take a book or magazine, for the waiting bit before operation, then you'll be asleep, and wake up after on the road to recovery. We all will be here, for the road ahead. The big lesson I have learnt is to do as Im told lol ,  Think Im going to write a poem about my stairs, they seem to have a life of there own lol Anyone who sees them or uses them says "Omg, those stairs " lol lol I feel a song coming on .....

Anyway not long now for you , hope you ok xx

Omg those ............ Stairs what they have done to my knee, the hip nooooooooooo problem. Can't do them AT ALL at the mo! On my couch in my lounge, bed sit world!
