Hi I take citalopram for panic attacks and anxiety. I constantly feel like I'm going to have a panic attack and still am having panic attacks since starting citalopram. Does anybody know if this is normal and how long it takes to get better. Also I can't go out because anxiety is worse.. Feel like I'm wasting my time taking these.. I've had them before and they worked within 4 weeks.. Will they work again? I don't know what to do..

Still early days yet, however you should be feeling some benefit now, I would allow a further week or so. The problem here is if you change medications to another named on, If you do this it wil take time to come of the medication you are on now and further time to get used to the new medication.
We are all different when it come to medications, some drugs will work for you and not for others, Therefore it is important you give medications time to work. Various drugs for Anxiety and Depression are not infinite in number. Always allow.plenty of time for thm to work

It’s too early. Give them more time.
This is relatively normal. I'm not a doctor but I did take citalopram last year for 3 months. It gave me terrible anxiety. I would wake up 6 times a night with horrible nightmares that prevented me from falling back asleep.
This is my experience. Everyone is different. If you don't start feeling better soon then you should talk to your doctor.
