Hi there you are perfectly normal in all you are experiencing just do as

they tell you regarding meds.and exercises and you will be home soon

and every day you will get stronger and you will be painfree very soon I

was pain free almost instantly when I started walking only scar pain

which was nothing compared to what I had been suffering before the op

so go with your own body's recovery rate as we are all different.

Good luck and take care

Congratulations on your new hip,

Well done and take care not to rush out of hospital.

This is not a race and you are a precious human being so just let it all happen around you for now. Relax and go with the flow.

Hospital is not nice but hopefully a safe haven for you to shelter in.

All the best,

Shirley

Dear khippie

It WILL get so much better - you are in shock, your body had suffered a major operation. Everything feels intense at this moment but it will pass, even by tomorrow you will feel much better - every day things will improve.

I wanted to leave hospital too - build up your strength and make sure you get up and down the stairs (it feels scary but it is surprisingly easy) I was amazed how quickly I did it! If you can do that you are out of there - but don't rush. Rocket is right / you are safe and cared for in hospital - and this will only become apparent when you are home.

You are over the worst - it all gets better from now - you can hold me to that xxx big hugs

Very normal and congratulations!  The worst part is over!  Happy healing!

Congrat and welcome to our hippes club.

Dr's have given you the work out of your life to get that old hip out, and nice new shiny hip in.

You have prorbaly lost some blood, also lost some marrow in your femur, that marrow makes red blood cells, and they carry your oxygen, also pain killers, you will be on a pretty hefty dose of those as well, they will make you dizzy.

Take advantage of your time in hospital, and stretch it out as long as you can, or they will let you.

Ask all the questions you need to as you go along with the getting well process, you will have good days, and a few terrible days, but it does improve, and having those questions answered, and maybe even having a whinge/vent of your feelings, we are here to help, with knowledge from having been there and done this ourselves.

Thankyou all n. All so right !! Xx

As everyone is saying this is all normal your bodys wounded and doed not realise its to help it so you have to go through the recovery stage the 1st 2 days are the worst then it starts to slowly get better. Just do as the hospital says and if your pain thats not managable tell them don't be a hero and suffer take any pain medication they give you anf if its not working enough ask for more they will try something else.

You will start ot have started tour physio just try do as they tell you and everyday it will get better until they ask you if you are ready to try stairs. As soon as your sighned off for stairs then they will let you home. My 1st l was in 5 nights and my 2nd l was in 4 because it was so fresh in my mind what my physio was and new what to expect. Don't worry your doing fine. I hatdly slept in hospital it was not until l got home l finally found a position on my couch l could sleep.

Good Luck won't be long until yout home just don't rush is.

Sad to report that you sound 'normal'.

Don't rush. It is a long process and you are at the early stages. Take all they help offered as you are laying the foundations of a new phase of your life.

Slow and easy...

Hahaha as normal as can be ;-)
