Hi all,
For the last two years I began to notice that I couldn't hold my urine quite as well as I used to, and in the last 6 months or so I began noticing a feeling like I never quite finished going to the bathroom, even when I would sit on the toilet and nothing would come out. These symptoms were never that bothersome, as the frequent urination only happened in the mornings, and I could still hold my urine at least 2-2.5 hours at a time throughout the day. Around this time I also began to develop a weak urine stream, but again, I didn't pay it much attention as it never really inconvenienced me much.
6 Months ago I began to notice hesitation when starting to urinate as well.
About three weeks ago, I had a bit of a bout with constipation, and trouble digesting food. Then, about two weeks ago, I had some spicy food, and work up feeling normal the next day, but by the end of the day, I had experienced a sharp pain running down my right testicle up to my pelvic area.
Around the same time, I began to notice my poop getting thinner and thinner, in some cases, it would come out very flat and in small chunks, even when I ate a lot of fiber. Soon after, I began to feel a dull ache on my testicles, very mild, but it began to bother me. Well, last week on Thursday I woke up feeling an intense amount of pain, and it was at this point where I decided to go see a doctor.
I have varicose veins in my left testicle, and this one started to bother me as well. Since Thursday, I have been experiencing (a) pelvic discomfort / pain, and a stinging sensation in my front plevis area every time I push to go poop, (b) and sometimes a bit of an "ache" like feeling when I push urine out. Sometimes, when I push hard, I feel (c) a small sharp and fairly mild pain from the tip of my anus, all the way to the tip of my penis. I remember that once, I pushed really hard (right before the bad pain started), and I felt a massive amount of pain shoot up my leg into my pelvic area, almost like I strained something ... Finally, I continue to have mild testicular discomfort.
I have been taking ibuprofen 200 mg 6 tablets a day, and this has helped with the pain, and I do feel as though I am better than I was 6 days ago. Still, I feel slight discomfort when I walk for long distances, and my pelvic area begins to hurt.
I have done Blood tests and 2 Urine tests, but the only abnormality that the doctors found was a "slightly" above average protein level in the blood test. No STIs.
I have spoken to 3 doctors about my condition, and everyone seems to give me a different answer. One doctor thinks it is nothing but epididymitis, another things it could be cystitis (which I am doing a urine culture now to test for), and the 3rd thinks I may have prostatitis.
None of them even considered that I had prostate cancer or anything like that, one even told me it was ridiculous to think that given the fact that I am an active, non overweight, 28 year old with a fairly healthy diet.
At this point I'm panicing. I'm honestly very worried! I've never had pain persist (albeit it is about 1/2 of what it was last week), for more than 4 days like this before. I have an appointment with a Urologist to check me out on Friday, and Ultrasounds of my pelvic area, prostate, and testicles on Thursday.
I'm in grad school, and I've talked to my professors about my condition, I am thinking of quitting my grad program, or taking a leave of absence given how I've been feeling.
Honestly, any advice that anyone here can provide would be so welcomed right now. I feel completely hopeless and like I need to start preparing for the worse.
Thank you all for reading. I look forward to your responses.
