2nd Seizure - Advised Medication Levetiracetam

Hello, looking for any advice or anyone who has been in a similar situation. My partner has just had his 2nd unprovoked seizure at night and has been advised to start medication. He has no other co-morbidities and is in great health, these 2 have just happened out the blue (and I realise it's likely for it to happen again)

Looking for any advice & specifically:

1. How many night seizures before it's enough of a pattern for the DVLA?

2. If he goes on medication does that restrict his driving?

3. Can he drink alcohol while on Levetiracetam (he drinks in moderation at weekends, but more at parties, nights out etc)

4. Is all epilepsy light sensitive? (I'm thinking roller coaster/cinema warnings etc)

At the moment we're waiting for answers so I'm doing as much research as I can to support him.

I had been on phenobarb and tegretal for 35 years and the combination worked great, ihave been ceizure free. But within the last 2 years my dr.put me on keppra because i had Hep C and could not take the other meds due to the interaction of the other drugs  and Harvoni. But since taking the keppra, that has caused me to come down with peripheral neuropathy.. If I would have known that keppra causes that then I would have never switched to the keppra and would have lived with the Hep C rather than live with with the terriible pain of  neuropathy

Thanks for your reply Kenatwood, I hope your symptoms get better. Definitely something to consider so I'll be on the lookout if he starts to notice symptoms.

And I hope his symptoms get better as well. I will also tell you I did research on the Levetiracetam​ or Keppra as it is known as, and found out that 39,000 people on that drug have come down with neuropathy since they have started taking the drug.. It sounds like it was pushed through for getting approved instead of using sufficient clinical testing.
