Have been taking tibolone for just over 2 weeks and I feel terrible, my hot flushes are worse, they wake me up in the night, i am soaked, i feel really tired and my head is very unclear, i can't think straight and have put on weight already, which makes me more depressed than i feel now, i only went on tibolone because the patches i was using started to irritate my skin and they weren't absorbing properly, so the doc said have a break, can't wait to get back on some different patches. Think i wll just stop taking tibolone and wait for skin to clear up! Anyone else feel like this?
Hi. I have been on Livial for almost 4 weeks but have stopped taking it 3 days ago and already feel better. I was determined to give it a go as have been suffering hot flushes & night sweats for a year. I had read some positive comments on this site and had been feeling desperate. I have had intermittent flushes for previous 3 years but used Remifemin (Black Cohosh) which had worked OK up until 12 months ago. Livial did not stop my flushes or night sweats. It may have reduced them but the other side effects have been enough to put me off it. They have included thick, unlear head, extreme tiredness and worst of all aching all over in muscles and joints which I notice that others have suffered as well. I haven't had any weight gain but I have been very careful with what I eat.
My doctor has reported that many of his other patients have done quite well on Livial with them feeling positive results within a week or so. I am happy to have found this site so that i have been able to identify that Livial does in fact have quite a lot of negative side effects that seem to affect some users. So, I am back to the drawing board again trying to figure out my next move. A friend at work has had patches and found them to work well but i have very sensitive skin and would possibily also be susceptible to skin irritation.
Hi, I've been on Tibolone for 4wks, and have waves of panic anxiety attacks, the feelings are so similar to post natel depression, which I had hoped would never return. So, it must be the tibolone, I am trying to continue as this is my only avenue of help. My doc says the tibolone would not have caused this!!! so totally confused, just want to feel like the old me, it scares me the way I feel. All I can say it must have something to do with this drug, and I'm sure the doc is wrong, will give it another wk, if no improvement, I will come off it, and will let you know if I have improved !!
:D Hi sorry to read about your experience of tibilone. I have been taking it for 5 years and have had no side effects. I sleep well and the horrendous night sweats and daily flushings have gone. It helps if I don't drink anything too hot or alc0hol as I find they make me flush. I do put on weight but I know why (I eat too many sweets and buscuits) I lose myu weigth easily when I control what I am eating and eat a balanced diet. Hope you are well. Yvonne
