3 days new to hip replacement

T and stretch out the spasm if you can it works wonders..... also have you got a pack of peas wrapped in a towel or an ice pad? if you haven't these are one of the best things to aid your recovery next to the grabber.... the ice packs work wonders..xx

Welcome and you will find much support here. It is so early in your recovery that you mus tnot expect too much, jus tlet your body dictate what you can or cannot do. I am three weeks out and still find myslef napping a lot, also walking by myslef is stressful so listen to your own body as we are all different. Lots of encouragement from this group and good ideas.

Thank you - I must be patient and not frightened I suspect - it is a time thing.

Hi Mumsy

Hope it's going well.  Just take it little by little - it's easy to expect too much and feel that you must strive hard to get better - but that's not the way we work... take everything in your own time and try and balance the rest, gentle exercise etc.

And don't fret re thinking you're going to dislocate the new hip all the time - the chances of you doing that (unless you're already trying to put your leg behind your head or sit in the lotus position!) are very slim indeed.  If it hurts a bit, that's natural given what your body has been through.

All the best

Neil

slow is key and patience I guess!
