3 weeks post op after laproscopy and still having pelvicpain!

Anyone experience this??? Am currently 3.5weeks post op for dermoid cyst removal but 1 week ago i'm starting to have this aching pulling pain in my lower adominal area daily. The pain comes and go till I've to take painkillers to stop the pain. Was wondering is this normal? Recovery was slowed down due to my belly button infection 1week ago which is now better after taking antibiotics. But still experiencing the aching pain at pelvic area. Had my 1st period 3 days after surgery and the pain was hell. Went for my 1st review yesterday and doc say its just post op pain. But im still very paranoid afterall its still the reproductive area.

Anyone experience this before? Any advise is must appreciated!

Really pleased I've seen this post! I will be 3 weeks post laproscopy on Friday. I had my ovary separated from surrounding tissues which it had become adhered to. I have had pelvic pain and bloating since which is not improving. Got an appointment to see gynae specialist at Dr's surgery Monday as was worried in case I have an infection or something, but now read this not quite so worried as perhaps normal. Am wondering if perhaps I've been overdoing it a bit since the op which isn't helping. Hope you all improve soon, Louise x

Hi Ling71440

I would say that the pain is fairly common - don't worry too much.I had a large ovarian cyst taken out as well as my ovary and tube. I had pain because of an infection but that was cleared up with antibiotics. I still now get occasional aches in my pelvic area after 8 weeks - especially if I have had a busy day running around. I had lots of bloaing and hardening of the incision site too. All quite normal I think1

Hope you feel better soon. Ax

Hi I am 6 weeks down the line for dermoid cyst removal. Yes the pain takes a few weeks to settle and it can come & go. I only got rid of my shoulder tip pain last week. My period pain is much worse now on the 1st day of my period. I hoping that will settle.

Hope your feeling better soon.

Hey ladies, I'm 15 weeks post op of dermoid cyst removal and right ovary (10cm by 11cm cyst)  I still experience pain now in my abdomen and lower region... Doctor said it was normal to suffer from these pains as you have had a major op on stomach... I also was paranoid and very worried considering how many weeks I was post op! I get odd pains in my groin which is painful but sometimes pain on my right side which is just like a phantom pain so weird! Hope you feel better soon and this helps xxx

I had a 14cm dermoid cyst removed via open surgery in October 2014. I recovered well but around a month after my op I noticed a heavy achy feeling where I had my previous cyst. When I had my follow up 2 months after surgery I told the gynaecologist this and she basically laughed when I said I felt like I had another cyst! I left the hospital feeling so rubbish about myself. But back in January a transvaginal scan showed blood filled cysts on each of my ovaries. These aren't passing as frequently through as they should be hence why I am feeling the symptoms as I did previously. I was being scanned every 3 months but now they want to do 6 month scans so I have my next one in November but I do worry when I get twinges and that heavy dull ache feeling. Yes it was a major op on your stomach but please don't feel embarrassed to get this checked if you feel something isn't right. You know your own body better than anyone else. My stomach still feels slightly bruised when pushed from my op and that is 9 months post op! If anyone wants to ask me any questions please feel free to message me. Katie
