I was wondering if one should be wearing a sling or not at this stage If I do I find it stiffens up my arm and shoulder but if I don't , I feel a load more pain!!!!!!!
Maybe a compromise? Sling when the pain is to much only then out of the sling to allow movement more to exercise? Shoulders I understand are the worst things re surgery, recovery and a positive result. (NOT wishing to throw out any negativity at all)... I use a soft neck brace on occasions when I am desperate. In the early days to lay down I had to use one, even to try and sleep. But I was sensible never to rely on it all the time....
I so hope you get some relief Pollmadoll... I can well imagine your discomfort you poor thing! Hugs x
Hi there thanks so much for kind message it is lovely to know we can all share our ongoing experiences and challenges on this site. ☺
Has the surgeon or your doctor not advised the best course of action or if you may need physio?? Surely they wouldn't just operate on a shoulder and not address post op issues... you poor thing.. I hope your able to get some sleep with it... some relief.. xo
I have had two physio sessions so far. The second one woukd have been mid November in Shaftesbury an hour from us so luckily Salisbury Hospital rearranged one for Warminster I'm Wiltshire every Friday. I am seeing the surgeon on the 2nd November. I am hoping to cook again once I am better. It is so worrying as I have no job to return to as I was a private housekeeper beforehand and have to support two sons. At least I am now on ESA and PIPS due to Fibromyalgia as well as everything else.I am.a single mother too.
Oh gosh Poll, I'm hearing you.. I was a solo mum, but one child. It's hard knacker working and coping with illness and other such 'gliche's' in life. Thank goodness Poll you have your ESA and PIPS to fall back on.. so hard, so hard. Some folk don't understand at all, that even though on may have a step up/helping hand, it's still not doesn't fit the whole picture of 'career' of choice... hmmm A big positive though is your two lovely boys.. they are forever. Hopefully you maybe able to find some other light kind of work on and off part-time... as you mentioned about cooking.. or light food prep??
Keep us posted how things progress. Hope it does all settle well for you, glad you are getting help via the hospital, good news.. I was a bit miffed about wether they were supporting you that way..
Take care Poll... x
believe me, knees are worse! i;ve had both . . .
