well 3 weeks today, and I'm having a good day, just had a lovely refreshing shower, and love that just washed feeling loaded the washer, cleaned the the counters, now sitting down with my mint tea, can't wait for the 6 weeks, so I can get out in the car again, oh can anyone remember is it 6 weeks for the teds or 12?
Hi Lynne me too what a great time it is now to recover too, in the summer, and off work for another month, at least...just depends on the money, but hey I am 55 this year and can get a little cash from my over inflate pension plan, then pay it back a little more every month, just want to upgrade my camera in the New year, will be a 1K, but I want to use it now not what I am old...latest one is now 7 yrs old and way out of date...I took my teds off as they dug in so much to my calves, but will keep up the injections till they are finished.
oops ... they did not tell you ? well, me neither ...
After surgery you need to get bloodthinners to prevent DVT -
I had to self inject Fragmin for 6 weeks ... others for less and some none at all ...and then the TED socks/stockings of which I don't know anything about ...
So it depends on the hospital and surgeon, darling -
Really feel the need to jump in here, with respect.
Hope no-one thinks their hospital forgot to give them blood thinning injections. My understanding is that only a minority use this practice. Majority rely on TEDS to mitigate blood clots. Have had 4 THRs in total. With 3rd, developed blood clot on lung. Only then did I have to have warfarin and after 4th, injections, because it was deemed I was prone.
