Going on three years after having a total hip replacement I still have a puffed up thigh. It doesn’t hurt , it isn’t sore but depending on what I’m wearing it can be noticed. Does anyone have this problem?
Sorry no Idea and cannot recall anyone else on this forum over the la. t couple of years reporting a similar situation so nothing to fall back on. In your situation I would want answers fro the surgeon who operated on you. Cheers Richard
I’m 5 years out and I still have a small lump at my incision site.
Sometimes it is tender but nothing unbearable
I had some initial swelling in the beginning, but one year out on the second hip replacement there is no swelling at all.
Yes, I have it. My surgeon said it’s due to the deep stitching required and that causes the bulge as they draw in that area with stitching and the flesh has to go “somewhere”. it’s not a concern and how people respond is genetically determined. some lose it, some dont. Most will over time.
