I started on wednesday, and bearing in mind I had a day at a dance festival (think bacon butties and coffee...) and a day at a theme park with the kids it has been fine. I haven't had any nasty side effects, but the first couple of days I felt a bit scared to eat anything. Haven't been on the scales yet, but got my period today and I think I don't feel as bloated and sluggish as I usually get. I haven't had a rumbly tummy (and normally I do!) but feel a little bit constipated today - could be something to do with the painters and decorators though!
I'm glad to have found this forum - don't want to be a diet bore at home, just want to stick to this thing and get this weight off, so it's nice to find some people who understand.
My daughter's birthday tomorrow, cinema, pizza, home made choc fudge cake. Dilemma... do I be a diet bore, or if I decide to join in with the family and friends can I just miss the tablet with the evening meal or should I miss the lunchtime one as well, and have something very very low in fat for lunch.... I want to lose the weight, but life doesn't stop does it....
Look forward to reading about your weight loss later in the week :-)
This is Trying Hard for some reason I didn't get logged on!?
I don't take a tablet if i'm going out and can't work out the fat content or if I know it will be over 15g. I try and be extra good before and after. Not many people know I'm on the tablets so it's not always possible to eat low fat, especially when eatting at other poeple's houses. I don't do it very often but I find if you treat yourself now and again you can be really good the rest of the time. My advice would be either eat a low fat lunch and take the tablet or miss both lunch and tea time tablets. A meal off or day off now again is fine. Just remember these tablets are to help us make healthier choices now and in the future but if you don't treat yourself now and again you wont stick to it. Good luck and have a good day
Good advice 'trying hard'. If you deprive yourself of too much then it becomes a diet and not a new way of life, so it is much easier to put the weight back on.
My nurse is v.good and says it's all about making small changes that can be sustained.
Got my first months weigh-in this afternoon..... not looking forward to it as I have just come back from 10 days in Wales and have certainly not deprived myself of anything! Missed quite a few pills too.. But, did do loads of walking so that might have helped a bit. (She says hopefully....)
Anyway, back on track now, the battery has gone in my scales so I can't check to see what the damage is - probably just as well! :?
