hello everyone just wanted to know if anyone has experience a weird head rush feeling all of a sudden and a full head feeling with anxiety I have been so paranoid and worried the last 6 weeks that it's a brain tumour the doctors told me it's my anxiety but I have never had these symptoms before its getting me so down I have always suffered with anxiety since I was 18 and never believed what the doctor say and I always worryed about my heath also when it happens I panic to the point I think I going to faint is the normal ? :)
. I am a veteran of this . to tell you upfront, I am in my 50s. I have been through every symptom of anxiety and stress that you can think of., including the feeling of a head rush like you have. i’ve had that many times! It’s very common with anxiety and the more you worry about it the more it will happen because it’s caused by the adrenaline rush that anxiety gives. ’
It all started in my 20s and I thought for sure I had some horrible disease. But I am still here and those symptoms from anxiety will not hurt you even though they feel scary and weird.
I had the head rush, internal tingling all over my body, external tingling, muscle twitching everywhere on my body, floaters in my eyes, ringing in my ears, shortness of breath, rapid heartbeat, fuzzy head feeling like de personalization, and many more.
All of my symptoms came on suddenly so you can just imagine what I was thinking!
The problem is not the symptoms of anxiety, it’s unmanaged stress and anxiety that causes the symptoms.
The key is to relax your mind as much as you can and practice proper breathing for anxiety. You can find that on YouTube as well as many other great meditations for anxiety! They have helped me tremendously!
. If there’s something in your life causing anxiety, counseling can definitely help.
you are ok, just get some support in managing the anxiety, do things that make you relax, stay busy and active. ![]()

another thing is you’ve seen four doctors and you need to trust that they know what they’re talking about. They see these things on a daily basis and know when something needs follow up. Take a deep breath, relax and work on managing the things in your life that are causing anxiety. Take one day at a time .
Thank you for the reply it’s nice to know that I am not alone and there is away someone to talk to.
All the symptoms came on about 6 weeks ago all of a sudden, it felt like i was having a heart attack and since then I have not felt right and always on edge ![]()
The doctors have put me back on sertraline but this time around they feel like they are not working also I dont know if you have had this but the back of my head and neck feel tight all the time. I no I shouldn’t but I do alot of googling which always says the worst and makes me panic more.
can anxiety cause symptoms to just come on at anytime even if you feel ok ?
once again thank you for reply it means so much and sorry for grammar I’m not good at spelling ![]()
i know where youre coming from. i was diagnosed with pvcs about a year ago. nothing major. but ever since ive been struggling with panic. convinced im dying even though several doctors state otherwise. i experience all over tingling funny feeling of not being completely with it even though i am. chest pain, rapid irregular heartbeats…tightening in my throat to the point sometimes i cant breathe..its panic and anxiety. it feels like death
You’re definitely not alone. I think anxiety can make us think all kinds of things are happening to us that goes along with whatever sickness or disease we’re worried about at the time. I have trouble believing doctors sometimes too but at the end of the day, they didn’t get their education from google like most of us with health anxiety have. I’m struggling with tingling and crawling feelings and I’m pretty sure it’s really happening sometimes but my anxiety magnifies it. Praying you find peace soon.
thanks guys you really are making me feel better I appreciate your replies
I just hope all this will go away soon
Absolutely, symptoms can come and go anytime they please, even if u feel fine.
but remember , any anxiety symptoms will not hurt you!
Tight neck, back, or any muscles are very common with anxiety. mine were so bad, i had to go to physical therapy!
You will not have a heart attack. no matter how fast it beats from anxiety.
BUT, when u google , your brain believes what u read, and it may create symptoms, even if nothing is wrong! then u get more scared for nothing. THATS why i say not to google. instead be strong and send positive messages to your brain.
have to agree with jan34534 100% i too have had all the symptoms of anxiety and panic attacks especially the head rushes, light headedness and feeling dizzy. its all ur. adrenaline from ur anxiety doing that to u. look up panic away on youtube, it really helped me alot. might even need to purchase his program
Hi,
Just jumping onto this thread as a fellow sufferer and sertraline user. I had an appointment with my doctor last week who has increased my dosage as it seemed to be having little / no effect on me. What I experience is a strange head pressure / fogginess which makes me feel dizzy and off-balance. At it’s worst I will experience vertigo and a strange ‘out of it’ sensation with my eyesight. When feeling like this I find it nearly unbearable to talk and especially listen to other people.
I tend to feel like when around other people for too long, at home I am fine - but during the working day the fog slowly moves in and builds until I get back home again.
Does any of this sound familiar ? I was certain there was something physically wrong, but MRI scan and nuerologist picked up nothing. So unhappy feeling like this just about every day…
crispy, what u are feeling are symptoms of stress and anxiety. read my first comment . get some help for it with counseling. once u can manage the anxiety and issues causing it, The symptoms will subside or go away.
you will be ok.
Many thanks Jan, I was referred to a counselor by my Doctor however after receiving 1 phone call over a month to tell me I was on waiting list I have received nothing since ! Seems typical of this day and age, if people cannot make money out of you they are not interested !!
Yes, I have it this morning. Sort of feels like full sinuses and makes me feel light headed. Had it for years. I thought it was a brain tumor for a long time. But, turns out it wasn’t. Also, after a sinus CT, turns out it isn’t my sinuses. Nobody really knows what it is, but it’s not dangerous. I still get the intrusive thought that it’s a brain tumor when it happens, I don’t know if there’s a good way to get rid of ht initial intrusive thought.
Hope you feel better.
