I'm back, wondering if anyone else at this point in recovery still has bad tendon pain in foot and swelling. I am 4 months post op and been doing PT which not sure helps. Before surgery I never had pain in tendon under my foot, now my ankle and all along side of foot is painful and swells if I walk for more than 30 minutes.
Never got an X-ray after surgery and don't see surgeon until end of March. Is it normal to have this pain still? Also my foot doesn't fit in normal shoes only wide shoe. Anyone??
Hi Sweefpea I am in the 3rd month from my surgery for my left ankle fracture. My tendon around the TOP of my ankle and the side is very sore and painful. I only can walking for 10-15mins. If I stand for 5 minutes my lower back gets cramp and I have to sit asap. I heard from my PT is it's too painful to do a MRI scan and see. Perhaps you might want to ask yr doctor abt this . Speedy recovery to you
😊
I’m a 6 months after surgery, before surgery I never had pain, but now different pains! Pain under my foot especially below big toe and also sometime inside the ankle! Pain in heel in the mornings, really awful stiffness in the mornings... pain in knee and hip after 30 minutes walking! But I try to improve I don’t know if I will get better or not. I’m really tired.
But about wearing shoes I have no problem at all...
Hi thanks for the reply, I think my PT is actually making the pain worse. Made an appointment to see dr next week and hoping this is all part of the process of healing. Good luck to you too.
I feel like you do, so tired and I thought by now that I would be able to resume to normal but walking more than 30 minutes really hurts. I will see the dr next week and maybe he can X-ray to see if my tendon is healing the way it should be.
