Hi im new here but have just been reading the really helpful posts. I was on c for about 10 yrs then came off for a year and a half felt really great and back to 'normal' then my husband and i split up after 24 yrs. Really hit a low point and the doctor put me back on C i knew i was going to get the side effects and knew they would pass it time which they did but the last couple of days have felt like im back at the start again.
I wake up really early in a blind panic, scary thoughts in my head ive got some diazipam which i take to counter act this but know i cant take it forever.
Im only on 10mg and wen i saw the doc last week he said to stay on that because at that time i felt ok. Going to ring today to talk to him as i want to know y im feeling worse again. The panics are horrible i try to get on with things for my children as its a hard time for them too.
Does anyone take diazipam with these tablets and will my sypmtoms get worse if i increase my dose
Sorry to go on and on but you all seem to be going through the same as me

Hi Lisa,
I've been on Citalopram since last October and in the early days I was also prescribed Diazipam as I was very anxious and full of panic I also had Tamazipam to help me sleep. I don't think the Diazipam made the side effects of Citalopram any worse and I only took them for a short time. Hopefully once the Citalopram gets into your system you will begin to feel better and won't need the Diazipam for long.
I went from taking 20mg to 30mg of Citalopram and didn't suffer any further side effects and have now reduced back to 20mg - hoping to get off them altogether soon!
Wishing you all the best, take one day at a time, keep posting you'll find lots of help and support here.
Take care

hi Nicky jane
thanks for replying i spoke to the doctor today he has now given me mirtazapine to take at night instead of the diazipam going to try one tonight and see what happens as have felt so spaced out all day and its my birthday today so was trying to b cheerful.
I dont know if the side efffects have come back because at first i was on 10mg then went to 20 for 2 days and it made me worse so the doctor said bite one in half which i did for a few days then i had whole 10mg tablets perhaps thats what has made me worse. I dont know wot to do for the best really to carry on and give the mirtazapine a miss for now, hes also signed me off for another week so hopefully things will get on an even keel by then.
Rambling again lol

Hi Lisa
Happy birthday for yesterday, I hope you managed to enjoy some of your day. I've never taken Mirtazapine but I think you should just hang on in there and take what the dr has prescribed for you I really don't think it's a good idea to take something one day then miss it the next. Give it time and a chance for the tablets to work you can have a plan for reducing what you take when you are feeling better. Don't worry about being off work, we've all been there and got through it or are making our way towards returning to work just concentrate on taking time for yourself.
Best wishes
