4 weeks on biculatamide plus hormone jabs bad fatigue

Hi  i was diagnosed with prostate cancer and given 28 days of biculatamide tablets, halfway through i was given a hormone injection. My prognosis was given as good by my oncologist gleason 3+4 no mo .But i a having bad fatigue anyone else have this .I am to have radiotherapy and more hormone in the new year.Is fatigue common with this treatment?

Garry52224g...I'd suggest that your fatigue is a side effect of your hormonal treatment... I've been on Zolodex 10.8mg (3 monthly) injections for a little over 2 years now and the fatigue still persists...

Have you had a prostectomy or is the Gleason a biopsy number?

Garry....Google NanoKnife focal therapy....Ask your doctor if you qualify...

No side effects....Complete ablation...Normal life style going forward..

Did your fatigue begin after your first injection and do you feel week?I feel absolutely washed out most of the time and i feel depressed too.

It is y biopsy number,i have had a bone scan and mri the cancer is still in my prostate .I am to have radiotherapy in the new year and injections for 2 to 3 years with the aim of a complete cure.

Hi Garry..Have been on Zoladex now 3 years...there are some hurdles to climb.I have just finished another 3 month course of Bicalutimide to bring my PSA down...In the final stages of Prostate M c....Keep active...I bought a vibraplate and exercise on that 2 x 8 minutes aday...get out of the house when you are feeling lathergic other wise it becomes a pattern an you will start nodding off at a certain time....Talk to people, don't think the worset...Your treatment sounds POSITIVE SO be POSITIVE....be with Positive People....The hormone tratment will make you a right BITCH...lmfao so don't let people get you down then you'll start thinking the worst that they are againgsst you...Been there done that...But I have learnt to deal with it in my own way and am still working and have a POSITIVE mindset an quality of life even with Osteoporosis that is a side effect of the hormone treatment...All the Best on your Journey..Ken

Yeah it's one of the side effects...the 1st implant was the worst as there is a huge battle within your body as it tries to fight it off...absolutely flattened me for about 2 days...the best solution I've found is to just force yourself to get out and about whenever you feel drained...

Depression is something unrelated I think...try not to think about things and keep your mind occupied...

I'm always pretty upbeat about everything but there are the odd moments...

Hello Sir,

My father is diagnosed with stage 4 prostate cancer , he is on bicalutamide and given lupron injection , just wanna know how effective this treatment is

Thanks

Hi k2k,

Thankyou for your reply,i am on triptorlerin and i am finding the weakness and lethargy a real struggle. You see i am also a hypochondriac so imagine that i have another illness and i am suffering depression as well Garry

Hi khan37168,

I believe the treatment is quite good and can keep the cancer at bay for quite some time.

Hi Khan...I was initially on Lucrin and Bicalutimide for 3 month...I changed to Zoladex after 9 monthys because of the side affects ie...bad knee and ankle  and hip pain, loss of muscle  and strength...I change to Zoladex and built up my muscles....Less depression...The hormone therapy affect diminishes after a couple of years and the PSA rises then the specialist start to try other forms of combat...like another course of Bicalutimide...Castration etc...Everyone is diferent ...All the best..Ken

Here's one for you Garry...say to your self..."Lets treat this cancer first then have alook at this other thing that ails me".....Stop thinking the worst senario....Thats what Depression does.....When you sit around at home its the worst time...Get up an go do something when you start thinking negative stuff...doesn't take much to get those thoughts outta yer head...Cheers..Ken

Depression and low mood are reported as side effects of the jab K2K,but i was somewhat depressed to start with being a hypochondriac so this has topped up my tank if you see what i mean lol.I do try to go out most days, when i can i am having some weakness too it has thrown all but the kitchen sink at me,thank you Ken so much for your replies it does help. Merry Christmas to all garry.
