4 weeks post op

4 weeks post op head feels but funny today didn't sleep well. How long did you guys have to wait for irnpost op check up? My hospital letter said 4 weeks but not heard anything so called nd and now been told it's 4 months. Is this normal

After leaving hospital, didn't have follow up with NS until I was 2 days shy of 6 weeks. As it seems that can take long time before can identify if CSF is flowing as hoped and if surgery had successful impact on symptoms.

I may be wrong, as going through this for first time.

Regret still having sleep issues 9 weeks on.

If been sleeping Oki actually but maybe you got full op I only got the bit bone taken out not the tonsil as well last night felt bit weird it's like inside in can feel the bit bone miss in n has a strange sensation hard to describe really on the good side I'm down to 1 or 2 pain killers a day most days tryed to be clear of them soon hopes I can go this Saturday with none so I can have a drink at my brother's wedding. Do u still have the numbness on ur head? Mine only seems to be the right hand side and is very strange sensation as well hard to describe to people lol

Wasn't aware of bone taken out, but def lost some of herniated bits hanging down cluttering up that area.

Still very often feel weird. Mainly as reaction to walking too far, bumpy car journey, standing up too quickly or bending down. And if do any of above in similar time frame end up with strange headaches where feel nauseous, tired and not balanced.

And despite my well established love of ale, still not drinking.

Managed to get down to few pill free days, and then will take one again if not feeling right.

Hope wedding is wonderful. I certainly would not have been able to cope with thumping music and flashy lights.

Oh my God, sound like my old gran!

You know you have Chiari when brain surgery is a good idea.

The cut a bit scull bone and the tonsils inside but I only had the bone removed wel see how it goes lol

Dear Leanne,

Congratulations finally you have done it..just take your time..listen to your body..mine was 4.5 months until I was able to walk normal..and DRUG FREE

4.5 months till u seen ns after ur op?

Will back at work at end of month. Likely still on the meds if experience above is anything to go by.

But the good news is that you seem to be suggesting a significant improvement in your health. If that is the case, terrific news. 👏😀👏😀👏😀

Only had a head ache for 3 days so spouse that's a good thing lol

Oh..I meant 4.5 months after op I feel better...but then being seen again by Mr Graham Flint of QE Hospital around more than three months after...that was quick..he was snowed down and had a lot of back log. But he did say..if something not wright I should contact emergency and need to be seen by him straight away..if you are worry you should do that too...

stable dear, dont you think is a bit too early?, how do you feel in yourself?, sometime you feel better..and think that you can go back to work..is yoru NS ok with it??  I would take as much time as I could..I had lots of Lumber Punctured though..so I think my back pain is due to that

I had follow up phone calls 6wks after operation, but was 4 to 6 months for appointment with consultant.. After 3yrs I still have numbness on right side, but pressure headaches are not bad but still get some... Everyone is different with this condition.. Just take time and look after your self'. X
