I'm 4 weeks post op to Bowman. I think for me the worst is the morning thigh stiffness. It's brutal sometimes, and also I'm still not sleeping well. But all whining aside, haha, it is far better than the horrible hip pain I was suffering for over 2 years. So I just get myself up, do my exercises, make a nice cup of coffee or tea and just get on with it.
It sounds to me like you are having a textbook recovery with the problems and achievements expected. Whilst all of us go at different paces, the pattern seems quite similar with aches and stiffness but also normally far less pain than before the op.
Keep up the good work and hope it continues to go well for you
Hi Susan, similar to me how you feel and those first exercises of the day....ouch...stiff....but getting there. And then a brew, then another.....must be soon PGTips customer of the year !!! Was going to enjoy a walk in the promised sun this morn....but very misty in the Thames Estuary. Now delaying it to have another brew (NAAFI strength) to allow sun come out this afternoon then nice easy stroll on one crutch with occasional few steps without the crutch....then back home for another brew. Very best wishes to you and your recovery.
I think you are doing terrific-way to go! At 4 wks post op I was still at the rehab center. Nice place but it felt good to get home.
Cant be much help about the sleep problems; I still wake up half way thru the night hurting. Have to take pain meds & muscle relaxant to go back to sleep which I don't like but keep hoping it will get better. I think everyone has sleep issues on & off for at least 6 wks so hang in there. Keep up the good work and you'll be getting better each day.
thanks everyone its so great to come on here and see how everyone deals with things and get good tips . will be glad to get back to work and stop drinkning tea and biscuits everyday not great for the figure lol
