How many of you are taking 40 mg. and how long have you been taking it? How did you know to have it increased from 20mg. or 30mg.?
40mg?? Thank god NO! I'm on at all 10mg and I'm feeling paranoid and anxious. I don't like this feeling
Some people do take 40mg and have it increased when they've been taking a lower dose for a long time and feel they aren't working as well for them. This is usually a decision made between patient and doctor.
Often people/doctors are too hasty in increasing a dose too early. Recovery on this meds takes a long time and there'll be many ups and downs in the process. This meds takes a long time to work and you can't rush it. The general mistake is thinking you're ill again when having a down time, or not allowing enough time for this medication to work. Usually 3-4 months is a good time, though some feel the benefit earlier.
Everyone is different, but do gauge your medication on time .... lots of time.

Hi jennifer, im on 40mg citalopram . ive been taken this just over 2 months now.. i started on 10mg over 7 years ago then 20mgs for a while now up to this . you can fell a bit shaky at first but everyone reacts differently to drugs. these drugs are for anxciety , some find they feel worse when taking them if you having probs go back see you doc , good luck ...
