Hi..I am also on my 4th week on Sertraline and it has been hell!! Tomorrow I am calling dr and tell him I want something else. I am nauseous when I wake up and it lasts for hours, I am shakey and have to push myself to do anything! I am so over feeling out if control and sick. I totally get what you are going through!
bless you what dose did they put u on x
Hi Lois, geewiz, I thought it was just me going crazy .... Firstly, I feel so sorry for you with the symptoms 'cause I know exactly what you are talking about. I dont know your reason for being on Sertraline, but I can tell you one thing ... If you feel like this after 4 weeks, it's morel likely to carry on for another 4 - 5 weeks before it will get better. I started to take 50mg about 11 weeks ago, and from day 2 onwards, I had exactly the same problems you are describing. Some days I would take 3 or 4 valoids to help for the nauseousness, the dizziness was extreme, could not eat and had to force myself to eat. Trembling and shaky and sometimes it felt like my jaws are moving and my skin crawled. It was just so horrible. And on top of it, I quit smoking after 33 years (my reason to take setraline to help me with smoking withdrawal problems). Mentally, I was a wreck. Suicide thoughts, crying all the time and just felt horrible. Anyway, I have decided to wean off this sh*tty pill about 3 weeks ago, and quess what, I have never felt so good. Within 3 days after cutting the pill in half, the dizziness subsided and other symptoms got better. I'm now on day 6 with NO pill, and I almost feel like my old self. I can go to the shop like a normal person again, feel energetic and loving and just in general so much better. My next step is to get off stillnox (sleeping tablet) - i'm now on 1/4 and soon will get off completely. Point is, these chemical pills make a person so sick and the dr just give to us without thinking. I've seen 7 dr in the last few months, had a mri and ct can taken and god knows what else, and everything is normal. But not one of these dr could tell me what my actual problem was. I even had myself tested for a parasite as I live in India on a working contract. I so understand what you are going through and all I can say is .... think clearly if this pill is the right one for you and if you really need it at all. Hope everything works well for you and you get better and your old self again soon..
Hi flower
I am really sorry to hear you are feeling like this. I am new on here, just read your post and wanted to tell you that you can and will feel better... It just takes time. I started on 20mg citalopram last march as I was severely ill after giving birth to my 5th child with PNA post natal anxiety. I upped to 40mg as I also felt that I wasn't getting anywhere, but this dose was upped to quickly! It took me a good 3 months to feel even a little better and a full 5/6 months to feel normal... I couldn't leave he house at first, eat, function, it was a loving hell. I transferred to sertraline after 4 months as I needed more than the 20mg I was on, but 40mg was too high so my gp suggested I go on sertraline and they have been a life saver. You just need to hang in there and don't go to 100mg as it takes time for the 50mg to get into your system x
Hi lois
These are normal ways to feel... These side effects will just fade away and you will be ok! Just give them time. It took a good 3 months for me. X
You will be ok. I was in bed too for the first few weeks... It was a living hell... But I am ok... It WILL be ok! Hang in there. You may need to lower to 50mg x
ALWAYS take antidepressants first thing in the morning. Tiredness will settle down x
