5 weeks and 3 days after anterior hip replecement and i have a first check up
Surgeon who did operation happy with my progress and my ex ray .All good.
No pain just little bit iin groin but he sad its normal and will take abot 3 months to heel. Even swelling can come back but that is normal. From this Saturday I can drive again, this Friday im starting hydrotherapy and physio therapy that will help. No much limping only when im tired. This time is much better then my first hip 17 months ago done posterior. I dont have to see surgon after 6 monts at all. Any problem just have to call him got his number.
So glad op is behind and im glad i went trough even it hurts ,had days up and down but thanks to this forum and the people from this forum i would not go trough. Thank you all of you. Back to work 21 of May . They will be not happy at work it take 8 they expect me back after 6 weeks but surgon give me 2 more weeks want me to finish physio. Honestly im not ready to be on my feet 7 hours 5 days a week.

I’m so pleased that you are healing well after your 2nd hip replacement. I’m glad that you aren’t rushing back to work, your health comes first. I know that your job is very physical, so make sure you ask to do some shorter days if you are struggling .

Dear Penny you will get there but it take time . Every one heeling differently. First hip took me longer than second hip. How I sad first was done posterior and second Anterior , also different surgeon.
Take it easy and take day at the time. You will be fine. Do some exercise, walking is good and pool exercise is very good as well. Take care

Hi Judith, second hip was better than first hip. May be because different surgeon and also second hip was than anterior less pain. First hip done posterior . The surgeon who did my second hip is very nice ,gentle he really care about people. I was lucky to get him. He came see me after op two times and check me if im ok. I was as a public patient in private hospital and have surgeon who work in private hospital. The waiting list is very bad and very long . I was lucky they put me to privete hospital after such a long waiting time. Im glad they did. At work not happy but like you sad my health are more important and if i dont look after my self no one will. Hou you are doing? I hope all is good with you. Take care.

still up and down a lot as regards pain(worse when tired)but im fine ,really,and im walking loads further! my dogs are very pleased!good luck at work xxx
Just read your post and I must say it’s a change to hear something positive as most on here is very negative . I’m on the waiting list for hip replacement but seriously thinking of pulling out as the risk of being in more pain than I am already or if developing other side effects is scaring me , I figure if I stay as I am I’ve still got pain but can take pills, go through with it and could end up with more problems like clicking , leg longer , in more pain for months on end ?
