5 months post op TKR, pain in knee and both feet after standing or walking.

So I am 5 months post op TKR, pain in knee and both feet after standing or walking. I cannot figure out why the left foot is hurting since it was a right knee replacement. Not seeing swelling. I have low arches but not flat flat footed Any thought are appreciated. thanks

HI i had RT TKR 11 months ago. I am having Lt done next month and have experienced severe pain in left leg thigh, knee and foot ! I think we put pressure on the other limb to compensate for the operated leg! Although I was told at the onset the other would need doing it has greatly deteriorated since the op! Be interesting to see what others have found!

This may contain some clues…

Other Pain After a TKR

Jill, same here with my left knee. Called Doc and they said normal. I think it must be from compensation. good luck

Take a look at my “Other Pain…” link in the other reply below. This is ESPECIALLY true when the other knee is already a problem. Same with me at the beginning. Gotta do the muscle rebuild…

Muscle Rebuild

…to take all the pressure off the new knee (and other knee) and put it back on the muscles that have atrophied over time.

Thanks Chico, I have been thinking compensation I will visit a chiro my wife likes

Before the surgery you probably favoured your right leg and leaned more on the left. i suspect you have continued that since your surgery.

yes, I suspect so

Also consider new shoes. You’ve been walking differently and probably incorrectly fir some time in your current shoes, and now that you have a better alignment and stride, new shoes would be a good investment. Get properly fitted and reward yourself for all your hard work recovering. Between that and a trip to the chiropractor you will probably start noticing a difference.

New shoes are a good idea. I have found that my knee with the TKR that foot has increased in size. i thinks its from swelling as that knee is still huge at 10 weeks.

help me find men’s shies in narrow width. I do have a closet full of ones I have not worn much

i have the reverse problem. i have difficulty finding women’s wide shoes. i just bought 2 new pairs and i think since the surgery they will be too small…never worn.
