So just walked almost 4 miles today with our Springer Spaniel on my own. She did not pull me at all, a usual trait of hers. I have not done this since having the op. So now I am looking to the school holidays and walking her every day, without pain!
I’ve done 4 miles today too, at 4.5 months.
It’s great, isn’t it?!

That’s brilliant, don’t overdo it though and be really careful she doesn’t do any sudden moves, do you use a stick just incase
so looking forward to walking my cocker i can go if my sister ir granddaughters come with me for a short walk.
well done only going forward now
Good for good!
4 miles is great and like me the op sounds wonderful.
Any plays for gentle jogging or Tai Chi in the park as a next stage.
Go well, get rest days too!

fantastic. altho I’m walking much shorter distances ( ant 1 mile outside and 1 inside per day) I’m loving the fact I’m walking places I’ve not been to for years.
it’s so uplifting getting out the house
but seeing that others manage at 4 months a brilliant walking distance is truly great
wow … so nice to be able to be active without pain. And nice to hear from people at different stages of this recovery. Very encouraging
Great news, well done!
Hi again,
Ditched crutches at 8 weeks, jogging and gym classes at 28 weeks, operation gave me back my life.

Brilliant news. Wondered how you were getting on. Enjoy your new mobility.
No I didn’t use a stick, to be honest these last few weeks have not needed to. When I walk her in my own, I’ve always worn trainers with grip. She has been very good when, even when I have been with hubby. Before she would pull but today she did not at all, even on the way home. She still gets off the bed at night times. She has been ever so good. However she is also 12.
not sure about jogging let alone running. I tried Pilates a couple of months ago but was not getting on the floor still!!!
I can now so will see. But do need to do something, however walking is so much faster now.
Give it time, honestly, if you read my chats on here, there were times I never thought I would walk again without support. Heal to Toe does help as well does exercises. I still do mine now. Keep it up.
We are all different and heal at different rates.
Oh I am loving it now. I hope that you are getting on ok too.
You will get there soon, just give it time, this is the first tine that we have gone for a walk with just me and Milly.
It sure is No more pain, can even do my own laces again!
It must be great to be getting your life back, I can’t wait to be able to walk the furbbies again.
thx . I have been walking heel to toe for ages just seem to have adopted it naturally. and agree re exercises they really do make a big difference. I 7sed to like walking before my hip started playing up so I’ve already thought I want to do more now.
still gt news re your 4 miles
