This is my second RTHR in less than 2 years, the first had to be removed as the cement that was used was cracking and the replacement was micro moving, causing extreme pain, had the second replacement 6 months ago, I am having the normal pins and needle from the nerves regenerating, but I am also having itching in the same area of my thigh, itching so bad that I am scratching my leg until it bleeds. I have to have my other hip replaced because I have A Vascular necrosis. I lost my health insurance and don’t know what to do. Has anyone had an itching problem ?

What you have been through and are currently going through is terrible.
I can’t remember having an itching problem when recovering from my THR but we all react differently, this does sounds excessive if you’re causing it to bleed.
I can’t really help other than to say hang in there and things have to improve, the answer will be out there…hopefully someone on here will help, they’re a great group.
You truly are an amazing person to be dealing with all this.

I had numbness, pins and needles from my thigh to my knee, then about 24mths after op I started itching and to the point of making it bleed right at the end point of my numbness just above my knee thankfully this has resolved itself after about 5 mths I did lots of massaging etc don’t know if this really helped but it’s worth a try. I know it’s awful but keep going I’m sure it’s just coming back to life - Good luck and I hope you soon find a solution or it just disappears one day like mine.

I don’t have any answers for you, but maybe someone else will.
I also had to have my first TRHR redone and it caused me financial damage.
Just do what you need to do and take care of yourself.
