Well saw my surgeon today, all okay no restrictions on what I do... have a touch of Bursitis in my right hip but mainly due to the ankle. Had xray on ankle and i have sprained it... so now have to stay on crutches.... but otherwise he was happy.
If my right hip is still causing grief in 4 weeks I am to contact him and he will arrange a steriod injection, but hopes the physio will work on it to ease the inflamation...
So 2 weeks ago I never thought I would be this far, so hippies there really is light at the end of the tunnel....
I saw the same light Elaine, hand i there I used to get little shots in my butt for bursitis worked for months, regular gp used to do them, havent had one in 2 years. Good luck!
So nice to hear something positive 😍X it's a long journey that I will start next Thursday 😳. Iv been reading so much negative posts or problems should I say . I needed that xxx
Yah Elaine!! I too have bursitis! 😞 Dr said hopefully all will settle down in 6 weeks. (Still have hip precautions.) One down 5 to go!! Will have follow up in a couple of weeks. Prayers for continued recovery. My tunnel still looks dark...but posts like these bring hope!! 🤗🤗. LD
Dear Bobbie, It is a tough journey but all the discomfort is worth it because you do get through it.... there are good and bad days believe me. The body and mind needs time to heal and it was like a ton weight had been lifted off my shoulders today. I was worried I had done something wrong and damaged myself.
I had both hips done together so movement was hard and I know I strained my right hip in the beginning.
If you need to talk then send me a message via here and I will chat with you.
Having been through 2.5yrs of Cancer ops and Chemo with my husband have learnt that you have to stay positive no matter what.
You will be fine are you having a GA or Spinal injection for the op... I opted for the Spinal and it was worth it as no delay in recovery and no side effects from having a GA...
Linda you are in the early days.... believe me I had a bad week around week 4 and 5... but then one morning I woke up feeling stronger, and he light had begun to shine for me.
Take each day as it comes, we all heal differently... each person is different.. set yourself little goals to reach and when you do it is an awesome feeling.
Thank you Annette, I have physio on Monday so going to ask if she can massage the area... otherwise if it is not settled then the prick in the bum will be required.... lol x
All the best of luck with surgery. Hard to believe after being so miserable for so long and limping like crazy for at least 2 months prior to surgery and all that pain, then the enormity of post op and how miserable I was, the first couple of weeks, the depression, the whining, the restrictions, then all of a sudden on day during week 6 the world changed for me. I am thrilled and when you think 6 weeks... a month and a half and you really start to get your life back, well it's kind of incredible. Am I 100% no way, am I navigating pretty good, you betcha! No high heels yet, still may have a limp when tired, but I can easily pick things up off the floor, weed the flower beds, get by with no toilet riser. All in all I am really feeling pretty normal. Off all pain meds, though still not sleeping the greatest, but I didn't sleep so good before surgery. The road may look long, and frightening but its a journey so well traveled and we are all here to cheer you on! You CAN do this!! xxo Annette
